Lovely evening out, met up and had a couple of early cocktails before heading to the chinese restaurant, had a lovely meal and catch up. DD picked me up and now having a cup of tea before bed. Rock and roll, I can't do late nights or hangovers anymore
. Oh and just short of £50 spent.

Well i'm drawing a line under this month as money saving May has been a disaster and i might of managed to spend £154 in the garden centre at the weekend, went to get a bag of compost and came home with compost and a lovely wooden bench. I must cut back in June.... hangs head in shame.
Off work today, got a couple of garden jobs done whilst weather is dry, some washing hung out and i have made a big batch of granola from items in stores and also used sausage meat and puff pastry from the freezer to make sausage rolls for lunch, outside chest freezer is going down slowly but do seem to have a lot of odds and ends to use up, I've taken out some chicken legs to defrost and will make a spicy marinade for them to soak over night in, in. Also taken out a piece of february cake and a piece of banana bread for mine and DH sweet snack this evening. Tea last night was a first as i bought some orzo pasta which i have never tried before, mader a lovely pasta dish using up sonm left of chicken from the weekend roast, half a tub of own brand cream cheese, some past their best mushrooms and spinach/basil from the garden. It was delicious. For tonight i have taken some sliced beef out of the freezer and will concoct a curry of some sort.
DD had a huge sort out of her clothes which resulted in a large bag of stuff for textile recycling, small bag of stuff for the charity shop, I rescued a few items that still had tags on and have listed on v1nted for her, sold a couple of items and made £14 for her.
I've managed to also sell a couple of items so that will be a few pounds once cleared and £10 has been redeemed from a survey site.
Rescued half a bottle of shampoo from the bathroom bin, DD decided she didn't like how it left her hair feeling, it's a branded product and had probably thrown away about £3 worth anyway i will give it a whirl and try and minimise waste.

Afternoon all.
What has happened to the weather, I know the garden appreciates it but i have washing to dry. I have also had to talk myself out of putting the heating on, instead i'm sat with a fluffy blanket and a hot water bottle. Got soaked this morning walking the woofetts. Also noticed that there is a tiny hole in my trainers that is letting water in, trainers still have plenty of tread left and will be ok for walking dogs in fine weather but not rain, so i jumped on vinted and have bought a brand new pair of the same style/brand(karrimor) as i know they will fit and cost a fraction of the shop price at only £10.
Work this morning resulted in a sealed tub of Ben & J icecream, funny how some people leave nothing and others leave loads, there was open packets of cheese, bread, biscuits and bacon which unfortunately ended up in the bin, such a waste.
Tea tonight is whoopsied chicken legs that have been marinating over night, i have also made some flat breads using greek yog, SR flour and olive oil. I do need to venture out into the garden for salad leaves and radishes. I also picked my first strawberry of the season this morning and it was delicious.
Had an email from NW to let me know i will receive £100 bonus which i'm really happy about, that will get chucked into hols pot no2 when it arrives.
Meal plan and shopping list made for tomorrow. Trying hard to eat down the chest freezer so it can be defrosted so hopefully i won't end up with loads of whoopsied items.

Morning all, up with the lark this morning after a terrible nights sleep which means i will be flagging by 4pm.
Woofetts walked and got soaked, i think my shower proof jacket is now on its way out, it's no longer showerproof and i've also noticed a couple of holes appearing under the arms, I did work out that i had bought it about when DD was about 5/6years old and she is now 22, I bought it as we were going to Camelot theme park which shut down years ago as i needed a lightweight jacket. So i don't think i can grumble at 16 years It will have to last me a bit longer as i have other things to save for and i do have other jackets but they are not lightweight and packable like this one.
Already been and done the grocery shop, £7.50 in Mr S and used £5 of nectar points bringing it down to £2.50, then went to Mr Al and realised i had left my trolley coin in my other handbag, so decided that instead of going to the cash point and faffing around to get a pound coin that I would just use one of their wheelable baskets as I only had a relatively short list, Well it worked i stuck to my list, didn't get distracted by any offers or the middle aisle
and only had to carry a couple of bits at the end, £32 spent and i'm very happy as this weeks available grocery spend was £100, I have kept back £15 for if i need to do a top up shop next week and sent £50 to holiday pot no2.
Whilst at Mr S i also sent an item I sold on v1nted do love the locker system it does make things so much easier, It was an item of DD so the money will go to her.
£10 in bank account from a survey site so that has gone into holiday pot no1.
The sun has decided to appear and according to the forecast will be nice for the rest of the day so I have bunged the washable kitchen rugs into wash. popped the chicken legs that i had pulled meat off for last nights flatbread into the slow cooker to make up a nice garlicky stock to use in a soup.
Have some hummous to eat up, so will have for lunch with radishes out of the garden and some oatcakes.
Spag bol for tea tonight will use half a pack of mince beef tonight and bulk it out with mushrooms and peppers from the freezer and some spinach from the garden, will use the rest tomorrow in a chilli which again will be bulked out with mushroom and kidney/black eye beans.
Spotted some choc chip cookies in the freezer that must have been from a greggs TGTG bag, will warm in the air fryer and have with the freebie icecream as tonights pud.
Enjoy your day xx3 -
Typical that your trainers and jacket both start leaking at the same time. Great bargain with the trainers though.
I don't know about Mr Al but Lid!s wheeled baskets are enormous!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2 -
Morning, feeling cooler today and the weather keeps throwing mini showers making it impossible to get any washing out, think we are in for a week of it.
DD picked me up some shopping yesterday whist on her way home from work £8 spent so the remaining £7 has been sent to hols pot No2 as i can't see me desperately needing anything between now and friday.
DH worked extra yesterday and today, earnings are to go back into emergency fund to cover some of the fridge cost, hopefully then we will be back on an even keel.
Garden is continuing to thrive, picked two lovely strawbs this morning that I enjoyed on my yoghurt and granola.
Picked salad leaves as DH wanted tuna salad rolls to take with him to work and some beetroots have been harvested ready to be roasted with tonight's toad in the hole. Also found a bag of diced carrot and swede in the chest freezer from the bargain veg at christmas, so a nice frugal meal as the eggs are also from my girls.
Got given a couple of kale plants that i have planted into a huge empty minerals bucket that DH brought me home from work, sowed some more rocket and put another layer of earth and straw on my bagged tatties. Need to sow some more beetroots as well but will leave it for another day as i have inside jobs to complete.

Hello all
Yesterday was mainly work, followed by a trip to the recycling centre to drop off some carp that DH had sorted out of the garage, popped into the charity shop attached to the recycling centre and had to rein it in,probably helpful that DH was with me as the place is so cheap and so many lovely things, DH just kept muttering about where will it go and do we need it. Did manage a small spend of £3 on a lovely cream enamel bread bin which matches my kitchen perfectly.
Dh treated me to a cheeky ice cream on the way home as for once the icecream palour was quiet instead of the usual long queue, i suppose it was because children have all gone back to school.
Weather has been poor today so stuck to inside jobs apart from walking the dogs, picked salad leaves and strawbs first thing, 5 today so i'm hoping that we have got to the point of having enough in a morning to go with my yoghurt and i won't need to buy them, it's only a few pounds a week saved but when you add together all the bits i'm growing it does add up. Spinach has gone a bit crazy the last few days so i've picked some and frozen it as it can be added to curry and pasta dishes straight from the freezer.
Some frozen veg that i chopped and sauteed from the cheap christmas veg has been added to a pan, along with some frozen leeks, a dish of left over mash, garlic chicken stock i made the other day and a handful of lentils, soe seasoning and herbs added and 8 portions of yummy soup made, 2 have been eaten for lunch, 2 in the fridge for tomorrow and 4 added to the freezer for meals next week.
Bitty tea tonight of salad from the garden, some cold cooked new pots which i will bung in the airfryer, DH is having a melt in the middle cod fishcake and think i'm having the 4 bits of scampi that were in a bag at the bottom of the freezer(yes in can actually see the bottom of the freezer). I am determined to get it empty and cleaned out.
Waiting for payday so no money to shuffle around yet and no extra money in, surveys and online sales are slow.
