I love that patio, @Cheery_Daff, and your beautiful stone walls. I'm guessing that was built over many years from the way it slots together?
Thanks 😊 Yes, we think the kitchen (the bit directly behind the patio, with the big window and the more uneven stones) is the older bit of the house. The offshot, on the right, was built about 30 years ago we think. There's another extension at the other end of the house, built as a kind of standalone extension in the 70s (for a family member to live separately in) but now all incorporated into the same house (and a pointed roof plonked on top of the original flat one 😂)  But no proper records for anything sadly!

    Lovely patio Cheery!

Did some weedkilling, so of course, it's raining now! Not much, but I didn't get it finished. While I can dig out other weeds, the only way to deal with the creeping buttercup unfortunately is to spray.

I've also got a barrow of compost in the greenhouse ready to use, but I'm going to do a few indoor jobs for now.

Not sure if anyone else having a similar issue but I’ve got 2 x tiarellas I’ve had for years (one in north facing & other in south facing beds) and both have had vine weevil attack.

im used to that with heucheras and to certain extent heucherellas, but the tiarellas have led a charmed life till now.

Noticed a worrying droop in both and hoicked them out ground to examine roots.  And then spent a disgusting but oddly satisfying 1/2hr popping grubs between my fingers and throwing them to Robbie who seemed to enjoy them.

wish I’d thought to divide them earlier in the season but was not expecting this for my nornally pest free tiarellas.

Painted another fence today plus set up the new water butt. Battled against the wind, downside of living at the top of a hill in a very exposed area 😞 Great for drying washing though. Picked some more mangetout and sugar snap peas. Cleared some weeds to make way for relocation of garden bench to free up space for my sun bed - look at me expecting it to be hot enough to sunbathe 🤣
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

I feel I've only spent a few minutes in the garden this week, and most of that was pulling off ground elder leaves. Next week should be quieter so I need to get back out there.

Sprayed. Fixed sprayer. Sprayed more. Think all the stuff in the grass has now been done. Cats tried helping 🙄.

Watered stuff on patio. Haven't had the energy to do the greenhouse as it's too cluttered. I really need to fix that tomorrow.

I did some watering (with feed) and a tiny bit of weeding but I've mostly been busy inside. Hopefully get time to do some weeding and planting tomorrow.  I have got two replacement cucumbers germinating so maybe we will have some this year after all.

Cold and windy today. Rain expected. Today is feeding day. I just need to see what other jobs I can cross of my list. Cutting up the rest of the carpet still on the drive and stuffing it in the bin is definitely on the cards as bin day is on Tuesday!
