Carpet was mouldy and disgusting Kaz - it's been out in the rain for about 6 weeks! Anyway, it's now all in the bin.
One large and one small tray of cosmos have been planted and one small tray of nicotiana. I'm giving up on potting them on and just tearing up the contents of the seed tray into chunks and shoving them in the ground. Hopefully most of them will make it. One large tray of nicotiana and half a tray of cosmos are left to do, then the cosmos that were potted up. I need to work out what to do with the oriental poppies that are doing OK in the greenhouse but probably need to go out. Apparently they don't like being transplanted, so i'll probably have to stick the whole tray in (or at least sections of it).
But for now apparently I need to lie on the sofa so the cat can sit on me.6 -
Mowed both lawns and cut the height down from a very tall and prickly berberis - ouch getting that in the garden waste bin. Assembled new sun bed, took ages and the instructions were pants 😖 but done now, just waiting for a heatwave so I can relax with a book and a G&T on it 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5

Planted the rest of the cosmos and nicotiana. Fed the tomatoes, aubergines, peppers, and cucumbers. Watered the stuff I sowed and then it FINALLY started raining... Not very hard. Water butts are pretty much empty, so hopefully it'll keep going overnight.6

Rain early this morning and it continues comparatively chilly and breezy. That wretched ground elder is really fighting back so I'm hoping to mow the grass today and at least I can pretend it's not there. I also need to feed and water houseplants, and I think some will need potting on.
In better news, my daughter's Swiss Cheese plant that I offered to rescue is paying me back for research and TLC: it's produced a baby leaf that's bigger than the one remaining original leaf, and there are signs of new root growth. Also my poor tatty (neglected) rhubarb has started a new leaf, so something's going right there.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

I had the day of work today so I have spent time tidying the paths in the front garden and have started weeding one of the flower beds in the back garden. Garden waste bin day is tomorrow and I can't get much else in it. The rain is due over the next couple of days so I might not get back out to do any more tidying. I am going to sit and make some plans if I can't get outside on Friday when I have my next day off.

Watered the greenhouse (water butts aren't full yet despite all the rain), and put some cork pot feet under the pots on the patio - there weren't enough (I've already used my terracotta ones), so I've ordered some more.2

I guess if they do eventually rot, they can be composted.4 -
I've put wine corks in my compost before, they come out exactly as they went in. They don't seem to break down at all.
Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi3 -
I've started using plastic bottle tops underneath some of my pots to raise them up, only for pots at the back so they're hidden from view. Not milk bottle ones though as they're a bit thin & flimsy.
ETA - can't remember if it was someone on here suggesting that or if it was a facebook gardening page2
