I had the day of work today so I have spent time tidying the paths in the front garden and have started weeding one of the flower beds in the back garden. Garden waste bin day is tomorrow and I can't get much else in it. The rain is due over the next couple of days so I might not get back out to do any more tidying. I am going to sit and make some plans if I can't get outside on Friday when I have my next day off.

Watered the greenhouse (water butts aren't full yet despite all the rain), and put some cork pot feet under the pots on the patio - there weren't enough (I've already used my terracotta ones), so I've ordered some more.

Cork pot feet? I’ve not come across these. Don’t they just rot?

Apparently not. They’re a lot cheaper than terracotta too (and those always seem to end up getting broken) so I’m hoping they work. Apparently you can just use corks, but I need a lot and it’s cheaper to buy these than drink enough wine!

I guess if they do eventually rot, they can be composted.

I've put wine corks in my compost before, they come out exactly as they went in. They don't seem to break down at all.

I've started using plastic bottle tops underneath some of my pots to raise them up, only for pots at the back so they're hidden from view.  Not milk bottle ones though as they're a bit thin & flimsy.
ETA - can't remember if it was someone on here suggesting that or if it was a facebook gardening page
