Was shocked to see a local coppice workshop group was selling wigwams for £20.  They weren't anything special.  No weaving, just nailed together bits of twigs.  They had lots of other things at good prices so don't know why the went wide with that one.
Perhaps has seen similar in posh GCs & thought he'd have a bit of it? It's also prime wigwam time 😉

Fairly solid drizzle here all day Kazwookie, but as you say, no watering outside at least.

Inspired by the talk of self build wigwams I made one for my sweet peas to climb up so thank you for that 👍 Also picked some mangetout and sugar snap peas from the greenhouse. The garden waste bin was emptied today so made a start on refilling it again. All this was in between rain showers.

No gardening done today or yesterday: I overdid it at the weekend and have had a twinging muscle since. However, that's nearly right again now.

Today has been a patchwork of showers and a bit chilly so everything will have grown when I get outside again. Apart from battling the ground elder, I intend to weed the planters so a bit of soil-softening rain is helpful.

@Goodintentions, that's dreadful about the snail damage. I would have been thrown by that. Well done for getting out there and planting afresh.

I've just been through the builders' bags of garden waste and filled the green waste bins ready to put out tomorrow. Despite composting and two garden waste bins I don't seem to be able to keep up with the amount we are generating at the moment!

Greenhouse checked - a few more things germinating. No need to water this morning - and it looks like it'll be overcast so it's unlikely anything will dry out.

    Room for another little GreenFly

I so far have my runner beans and peas planted out - I had to seperate the peas because I wasnt sure they were going to germinate and threw the whole packet in and now all of them have so I have some in the front garden and some in the back garden.

Greenhouse has a fair bit in - I replanted some tomatoes at the weekend as they were looking good but a bit cramped. I think I need to start them on a feed soon.

I also have cauliflower seedlings, and swede seedlings.
As well as cucumber, a celery I am trying to grow from scraps, I also have pumpkins peeking through, 3 chilli plants, some watermelons, courgettes, sweetcorns and a bed full of strawberries.....some of which I moved to tubs out the front - 5 took no problem but one seems to be protesting at not liking the move but so many flowers.
I also have rocket growing in an old freezer shelf basket and used the other two to plant spinach and lettuce in at the weekend.
My blueberries and mini apple tree seem to all be showing signs of life now too with some nice leaves sprouting all over the place but they are their first years so Im not expecting much from them.
Oh and 4 bags of spuds all doing their things too. None of the leaves are dying back yet though so still have a while to go with them I think too.

I also weeded the side of the garden on the weekend and removed a load of bindweed. Bleeding stuff - I hate it. also found those sticky willy things as well so that went too.

Im hoping to get out and get some more weeding done soon. I have nettles and things under my washing line and in front of shed but Im hoping I have some spare weed membrane so I can get some bits cleared and membrane down to make life and mowing a bit easier.

Also my mixed crocosmia seems to be popping up nicely too although no flowers on the orange one at the bottom of the garden yet.

Wildflower weeds and bulbs I planted dont seem to have amounted to anything though so I think plants might be the way next year!
    Time to find me again

All this chatter about greenhouses I 'think' I want one!  :)  being on the coast the the high winds we get here, it will need to be well tied down.  I will have to ponder about it, mind you there is a nearby house that doesn't use their green house, I wonder if they might be up to selling it at MSE prices !!

Been raining on and off today, so the front gravel has started to be weeded, with the help of cats!
