I do not understand that they gave me the £200 incentive but when i asked about the 5% interest on the flex account they said because I had a flex account previously I did not qualify because in August 2021 I had an incentive then and because I closed my account in January 2024 I do not get the enhanced interest rate.
Simple - they rigidly enforce the '1 FlexDirect bonus interest period per lifetime', and as such have to check details relating to accounts no longer held, while the switch bonus is less strictly enforced.

You've benefitted to the tune of £200 from a payout you weren't strictly eligible for. This is a good thing (for you!), surely?

I think you'll be fine, the requirement is to request a switch before the offer is withdrawn and met all the other terms. I'd be very surprised if they failed to honour it otherwise you would need to have requested the switch like 2 weeks ago to have it complete in time.

No need to trust a third party via a tracking link, as Nationwide themselves confirm it here: https://www.nationwide.co.uk/current-accounts/switch/

"Offer ends 4 July 2024. We may change, replace or withdraw this offer at any time, and you cannot be subject to any of the exclusions in the terms"

How long between switch completion and receiving the £200 ? The switch happened on 4th July. It's now 9th. Am I being impatient or is something not right?
  • Probably a little more patience. Only 3 working days.

Ah yes - just found this online ' We will credit the payment to the current account that you switched into within 10 calendar days of the full switch completing'
