Appreciate this likely gets asked every time, but struggling to find a definite answer. It seems most advise waiting for the DDs to come out of the account before starting the switch. What counts as “starting”?

I have set up Plum and Moneybox DDs but they’re not both showing in my donor account yet. If I request the switch now, but set the completion date as 28 days in the future (plenty of time for payment to be taken), would I be OK? What about if I did this after they both show in my donor account, but before payment is made?

An additional question is that I initially accidentally set up only one-off direct debits. I have now switched to weekly ones. Would these count as the same direct debits?

Starting means Nationwide initiating the switch, which they'll do 7 working days before your chosen switch date.

So long as your confident the payments will be taken beforehand, there won't be a problem.

My two direct debits first payments are due to come out tomorrow. Would it be ok to start the application/switch process today or best just to wait until tomorrow or Tuesday?

Also I have a flexbasic, which means I’m eligible as a member but not to switch to for the bonus. However would it be OK if I were to upgrade my account to flex direct first or better to just apply for a completely new one ?

Dam! Whilst waiting for my direct debits to move over I thought I'd start the switch and request it for a month's time.

I'm in France and don't have my donor account debit card on me!  I have access to the last 4 numbers but not 5!!! What's the chances of this offer being pulled before end of June?

I don't know, but at a wild guess they might want it to still be running when the Fairer Share payments start landing.

Anyone know if I will be OK if I upgrade my existing nationwide basic account to a FlexDirect now, and then do the switch in, would that work? I have the required accounts when it says to have, but rather do that if I can than opening a brand new one that i'll not use

If they let you upgrade, I see no reason why it wouldn't work. Some providers are a bit fussy about upgrading Basic accounts to non-Basic ones tho, can't remember if Nationwide are one of them.

Do you use the mobile app for your donor account? If so, many (not sure if all) will let you view your debit card details.

Still no update on switch bonus. I completed on the 5 June.  I went into the local Nationwide branch on Saturday and the advisor said it takes up to 21 days.  If that is the case why did a few posters on here receive their bonus in a few days after  completing the switch.

I was advised on the original text from Nationwide I would receive a further text to advise whether I am met the criteria shortly afterwards.

I'm in the same position, but completed on 6th June.

I have 3 savings account with Nationwide, 2 of them have 0p in, and one has 5p.
I tick the boxes required, but I'm ready for them to 'try' to wriggle out of paying, as I'm not a particularly active member of theirs.
