Hi, I'd like to join this as well. There's 7 of us, four growing boys, so I'm going to start with £400 for the first month and hopefully reduce is as I get into the swing of it. Can I be added to the list. Thanks. (off to work out how to do the signature thingy now!)0

I'd like to join this challenge!
There's me and my boyfriend.
We do meal plans and keep all our receipts already but could definitely do better, I'll say £35 per week, with 5 weeks being £175 for the month of January.Toluna - 68,260 points (16,300 pending) | Pigsback - £2.72 (claimed £30) | Global Test Market - 230 points | OnePoll - £12.30 | Lightspeed - 480 points | YouGov - £15.75 | Pinecone - £8.000 -
Happy New Year everyone!
Is it too late to join? Have fallen off the DFW and money saving ways lately as have been feeling too ill.... not even cooking most days.
I have two very hungry teenagers who seem to eat contantly so my budget will be £240.00 for the month. i am not sure what I normally spend but think this figure is doable, it will include laundry stuff, cleaning stuff although have plenty in the cupboard, cat food and packed lunch bits.
Talking of food have yet to eat today - apart from a few pork scratchings! so off to find some soup as feel a little dizzy.......

Not wanting you to struggle with your £135
but £35 for 5 weeks is £175 but if you do £135 then you're a grocery challenge superstar :T0 -
Hi all,
Happy New Year to everyone.
I'd like to join this challenge, have been thinking about joining for a while, but didn't think I was disciplined enough to do it, but I need to, I think most of my money goes on food, just cos i find i go shopping for something to do. SAD!! I do really have a life.
Anyway, I'd like to aim for £75 for the month. I know it's a lot for me and my bunny, but havent been shopping since November and spent most of xmas and new year at work or my mum's so no leftovers.
I get free meals at work 13 days of the month, so hoping to bring budget right down, and gonna start keeping receipts. and not pop to local tesco express cos i can spend a fortune on not much.
Here goes.SPC 18 Target £200 /0 -
Spent £74 in Tesco today getting our groceries for the month. It did include two large packs of minced steak, bogof chicken and half shoulder of lamb which should do us.
Have got the BM and SC on as I type making soup and bread for OH's return to work tomorrow. Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!

Hello everyone,
This is the first time I've done this, so will aim for £400 for 1st - 31st January, for 2 adults and 2 children. Will hopefully be able to reduce it over the coming months...0 -
Can I join please?
There's just me and OH, main expenditure is packed lunches (he eats like a horse when he's at work!). Hopefully this will also help me to stop nipping out for a sandwich at work instead of eating whatever I bring. I am now using the slow cooker and my freezer so much more, so hopefully will get through.
I would like to pledge £120 for us. It will be a bit of a weird month because we are at centre parks at the end of the month.Money, money, money, must be funny....in a rich mans world.

Crikey thats uncanny, i could`ve posted this
The lunch and sandwich thing are our 2 main downfalls and the breadmaker and slowcooker will be on soon:jPlanning on starting the GC again soon0 -
Oh, I am going to have to join again. I know I have yet to actually complete a challenge
Technically, our month does not start until the 4th. However this month will hopefully be that much easier because we are going to have a proper budget for everything - so spending money will be e.g. £50 a week - then if OH goes out and buys chocolate etc, that will come out of HIS spending money NOT the grocery budget. This will make my life so much easier because I keep my receipts
Also, I need to keep checking my progress here. So, if you see me online, or on the Daily, do shout at me/send me a PM to push me over in this direction
Going for £150 for the month. Doing it weekly did not work (as the 2nd week I had to buy toilet roll etc, so had a really big overspend that week, but it is on stuff that lasts the whole month)We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0
