As long as anything you send by post is with a free certificate of posting from any post office, it is deemed to have been delivered (served) according to Section 7 of the Interpretation Act 1978.Key Points of Section 7 of the Interpretation Act 1978:Service by Post: Section 7 provides that where an Act authorises or requires a document to be served by post, and the document is properly addressed, prepaid, and posted, the service is deemed to have been effected at the time at which the letter would be delivered in the ordinary course of post.Proof of Posting: A certificate of posting from the Post Office can be used as evidence that the letter was posted. This creates a presumption that the letter was served, but it can be rebutted if there is evidence to the contrary.A proof of posting certificate serves as evidence that a letter was sent, but it does not guarantee delivery. It establishes a presumption that the letter was delivered, which is helpful in legal proceedings if there is a dispute about whether the letter was received. However, if the recipient can provide evidence that they did not receive the letter, this presumption can be challenged.2

Is there a form I need to fill for the court to confirm that the settlement has been made?

I hope it wasn't posted with 'guaranteed delivery' on a Friday, to a firm closed at weekends. If yes, let's hope they try redelivery in Monday and not return it to you.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

.No I sent it on Wednesday and I can confirm they signed for it yesterday.3 -
So, against the advice that you simply use a FREE certificate of posting from any post office, you went and forked out for "guarantee delivery". Why? (rhetorical)1

But at least they signed for it so you have paid and settled it in time.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

When you referred to Key Points of Section 7 of the Interpretation Act 1978:
I thought you were making a legal point
I had also never heard of a FREE certificate before, so I just went ahead and got what I know to be a Guarantee.
