Woke up to find A's face still very red and a bit of a tooth had broken off when he was cleaning them this morning, leaving a jagged bit, so he wants to go to the dentist. He doesn't currently have a dentist and I'm not that keen on mine and want a new one so I will look for one for him this afternoon. The chiropodist suggested one to me when I saw her recently so I will look into him.Last night we had the most incredible electrical storm, which woke me at 4am. There was torrential rain, and constant huge flashes of lightening for about 20 minutes; I've never seen anything like it. I felt like I'd been beamed up to Saturn or somewhere. This morning we are meeting a friend at a museum cafe for a coffee. It's still very cloudy, but dry and not cold, so we might be able to sit outside with a bit of luck. I thought A might not want to go given his red face and broken tooth but he seems to want to, which is good. I will vote afterwards, and hopefully A will too as he turned down the opportunity for a postal vote. I also need to clean the kitchen floor and vac everywhere.Hope everyone has a good day and I will check-in later.7

My 95 y/o grandmother has fallen and the rellies I don't speak to are breaking into her house and waiting on an ambulance. She is nearing the end, obviously, but I don't go to her house because the rellies I don't speak to go all the time and I do not want to be near them and I will protect myself and if that makes the relationship with Nanna a casualty of war, so be it! Hi all
Thank you all, you are lovely. Felt very anxious on and off today but have managed to stay upright! I have a remote meeting booked in for 3pm tomorrow, what a time the day before the Bank holiday weekend. I might do a bit of work first thing then take the rest of the day as TOIL and just log on for the meeting, it's not one that I really need to prepare for.
I have a nice weekend planned. I am volunteering for a bit on Sunday and it might be a challenge if I am feeling anxious but I can't give in to this.
I am going to do some work on writing down my worries and trying to sort the facts from the feelings. It usually helps.
Love and hugs to everyone xx7 -
All washing in and ironed and on the maiden, or folded and bagged (work tea towels and cloths) or put away (my towels). I have cleaned my room, I've also moved DD's bedside cabinet and vacuumed under/behind it and vacuum battery now on dock ready to recharge.
DD and I have booked trains and tickets to London to see the Tina Turner musical, we are going to a matinee so can be there and back in a day.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Yes, it is funny piggers. She also recommended a vascular surgeon, so she must be quite clued in to the wider medical profession. Sorry to hear about your grandmother - I hope that she pulls through.Valli, when there is a decision to be made, you always seem to make the right one.YL, I'm pleased you're feeling better. Re you anxiety, I went through a period several years ago when I suffered terribly from anxiety, and one strategy I found useful was first to think of someone I knew who was very sensible, intelligent and level-headed (usually my friend J who has had to go back to Manchester to care for her father). I would then ask myself if J would worry about this and very often I had to admit that she wouldn't and probably wouldn't even have given it a second thought. That would then 'allow' me to let go of that worry, sometimes reluctantly, as my worries could be a bit of a comfort blanket. It might not work for you but it's worth thinking about at least. This morning I stripped the bed and put the bedding on to wash (minus the duvet cover which has been awarded a long service medal and retired) . We then went to a museum cafe with our friends, V & R, which was really nice, although it wasn't warm enough to sit outside. V told us that she also had a bad reaction to the latest covid booster, which is putting me off a bit as I have now heard of several people being unwell after it, but I will have it.We came home and I made lunch, WUPA the lunch and breakfast things and started the TDing. I then looked for a dentist for A and came up with 3 possibilities. The first practice has won an award but when he rang he just got voicemail. He left a message but they haven't yet responded. Whilst he was waiting he tried another and they said they could fit him in tomorrow afternoon, so he was pleased about that. He proudly told them that he is nearly 80 and still has all his own teeth! Let's hope they are good and sort out the problem quickly and efficiently.Once that was sorted out I went out and voted, came back and made up the bed with fresh bedding, cleaned the kitchen floor and vacc'd around and then made tea and gave the 4th lot of eye drops and finished the TDing. Later, I made supper and am about to wash up and then I need to go online and order a new duvet cover to replace the one I retired today.

Evening all,
Well done for staying upright, YL! Believe you me, you do not want a visit from Dr Round and her waggy finger! 🤣. I now have massive bruising appearing like a technicolour rainbow, if that is such a thing. I won’t show you, as it isn’t a pretty sight…
Such a busy day at work today. After a few weeks of yawning boredom, today went stellar and woke me up. Flying has been limited to cooking dinner ( bbc recipe - aubergine and black bean bowls, if anyone is interested, nom nom) and clearing up the kitchen (minimal). Apparently I missed the massive thunder storm in the night.
CoG - my current course is intermediate German. I studied French and German with the OU many years ago. Whilst I have kept the French up, my German speaking has been sporadic (spurred on my trips to German speaking countries usually). I decided that this year I needed to revisit it, hence going back in with this course. I was torn between that and some of the environmental science courses. Then again, there are a lot of history courses that I fancy too…
Tomorrow is Fri-yay, thank goodness, and a long weekend to boot. Take care, fly friends x6 -

Sorry to hear about your grandmother - I hope that she pulls through. She has been waiting to die since she was 37... she is now 95.. I'm sure she will be quite happy to go and I just hope her passing is on her terms and the afterlife with my grandad she has lived in belief of is there for her.. it would suck if there was no afterlife for her to be with him after all this waiting!Pack ups doneI sold a pair of shoes so I need to package those up.I have shuffled stuff around a bit in the kitchen because it was super messy.
I have a pile of stuff to fold and put away before I can get in bed so I might sort that before i get comfy in my chair with my knitting.OH finished DD1's garden but will go back next week nd give it a speedy once over so it is tidy again, the front he did on Saturday is looking woolly again and the fox has been digging up the middle of it again.I cannot for the life of me find the picture hooks.. I am sending OH to dig them out for me because I have about 100 pictures I want to hang. I have seen the darn things recently but cannot for the life of me recll where. He said they might be on top of his cupboard but I only found 5 tubes of toothpaste he swore he didnt hve and 6 deodourants he swore he didn't have.
I need to research a place to get 4 new tyres.. I forgot.
I need to kick the school they have suggested for Squeak and see if they will let us look round.. I shall keep an open mind despite what others have said make it sound very much unsuitable.
I need to contact CAMHS, School re breakfast club.. and I need to do a shop.. I might do a C&C it is so much simpler.
DW on again.. bit more kitchen mopped.

Glad A got his dental appointment so quickly, CoG,
Today I survived the Terrible Twosome with the help of crafting, board games and peanut butter sandwiches with a squirt of honeyI also got 7 different types of veg into them at teatime, blitzed with passata, herbs and spices to make a curry sauce for the leftover cooked chicken from Sunday (I got 10 decent portions plus stock from the one bird which had cost only £4.99 - very MSE!)
We took Rosie for a walk after lunch (she tried but failed in another sit-down strike), and I dropped the girls off at Scouts this evening before going to help K sort another area of her finances. Having had her lightbulb moment, she is becoming far more proactive and confident in her own ability to cope with the financial pressure she is under
Finally, on my way home I called in at the church hall to vote
So a good day in all, though flying consisted only of helping the girls clear up the mess from their crafting
Various bits need finishing off tomorrow - however, the main bulk of the flying will be left for a few more days: K is insistent that she wants to help me on BH Monday.
See you in the morning - sweet dreams to all xxx
