To be honest HB, I've had some lovely times at funerals recently, as well as happy reminiscences shared.
3 loads of washing dried, bunnies run and hutch cleaned and reset, car washed and vacuumed and spot removal done on car seats.
DD made a pole of 3 knitting needles to retrieve the blue tack I dropped in her car engine...very ingenious. Her screenwash system isn't working. We are trying white vinegar. She used my in-use needles though. However I was in the bad books for dropping it in...
Garden chairs and tables out of shed and on patio. Shed swept. Jam jars removed to shed. I ate my lunch in the garden.

Thank you, HB. Much better than I was this time last week, although random bruises keep appearing. It must have been quite a fall I took.I managed to get DH to come to the allotment with me this morning to get some weeds shifted so that the darn potatoes can finally get in. He doesn’t work as fast as me and makes such a mess whilst doing it! Still, beggars can’t be choosers and all that. Potatoes still not in, though. The slugs have had a merry feast on my broad beans. Every last plant is decimated. I could have cried when I saw the state of my carefully nurtured plant babies.
Dinner (veg stew with cheesy dumplings, in case you’re interested…looking at you, Round 😉) is in the sc. I have just finished my toile of a new dress pattern, a worn out sheet did the job. Looks ok, so now I need to pluck up courage to cut out the green linen that I bought for the real thing.Flying…errr….oh yes, 1 x wm, hanging indoors, as we have had an afternoon of heavy showers. There’s a change then.
I need to book a shopping delivery for next week, but I am so close to the end of my library book…8 -
Good. It's heartening to know I'm not the only one that found a funeral more joyful than mournful. I do think 96 is a ripe enough age, and she'd been in a nursing home for some years.I've managed to clear two shelves this week, while sorting stuff out. Very chuffed with that. Now I've found my mojo I may be flinging a lot more. I've listed stuff on Gumtree using my mobile, a first for me, and created another email account so I've now got a new Insta account. The sun coming out has boosted my mojo. Or summink. See you on the next one.Better is good enough.7

@Fayolle - have you tried sprinkling a little salt around your plants to shrivel up the slugs? Can always put in on top of some newspaper around the plants so the salt stays away from the plant itself. It does make you upset to lose all of your baby plants. Hugs.8

My nanna would cut an orange in half.. eat the orange and place the peel like a dome on the ground near the plants and the slugs would creep inside and she put them in the bin or...put a length of wood on the floor and turn it over as you are leaving so the birdies can eat them. I know some people who put roasted crushed eg shells around their plants too and swear it works.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)7
