Morning all
well, after yesterdays lovely ‘windows open’ day we are back to overcast. I have to pop to work this morning as I am meeting a new user, and then clean co-work space, though that may be later. I also want to repair a cupboard door handle.
DW. needs emptying and the LR needs a clean.
Hopeeveryone has a good day.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

I'm trying to work out how to fit everything in tomorrow. Non-negotiable are try to finish tough report, check greenhouse, go to drum lesson 3.30pm (as I pay a term in advance) , lake swim 5pm (as I need to keep the fitness up), dinner with friends 7.30pm(we were invited some time ago so it's been in the diary and I can't just plead too much to do), doing 2 flower arrangements (1 for dinner friend and the other, while I'm about it, for church - although the church one can be done on Friday). I'm booked in for Pilates at 12noon - or rather, I'm 2nd on the waiting list but that's almost bound to get me to the top by tomorrow - and I do enjoy it plus it's all added stuff for the fitness.....however, having middle-of-the-day appointments is a bit disruptive. I can cancel so long as it is by 11am so I guess I could see how far I've got with flowers and report by then. You will notice the rather lack of actual housework on there. Oh yes and I have to vote, don't I.
Fortunately today's student was relatively straightforward, albeit I need to do a bit more via Zoom on Friday. However I've just downloaded and printed details of a very complex one for 2 weeks time so have sent an email to my manager (along the lines of 'why me?' among other things i.e. pointing out the major mental health issues which is not what I am trained/intended to assess on their own).
I'm not going to write what I've achieved in the last 2 days as my time is probably better spent going to bed in preparation for tomorrow - although I may just do another bit of the report and put some oasis in to soak!
- Report ready for approval/comment from manager
- everything doing well in greenhouse, though still more seeds to sow outdoors and pot up seedlings inside
- drum lesson was particularly uplifting for me as I started learning 'Jump' by Van Halen - it seemed like a workout in itself as I got very enthusiastic. Hopefully working on that will encourage me to practice more (for those fearing for my neighbours, I have an electric kit at home so they can't hear it!!!)
- good lake swim and Pilates.
- did gift flowers, appreciated.
- voted using my shiny new bus pass as ID
The dinner with friends was enjoyable but very late home so I've made a late start with the help of so far 2 non-decaffeinated coffees. Feeling fairly well exercised this week, I cancelled aqua aerobics as I've experienced enough water - 2 swims, possible usual lake swim tomorrow and extra one BH Monday followed by usual gym swim next Tuesday and lake coaching session Tues eve. Not to mention it is pouring with rain and more forecast here for the weekend - it's a real north/south and east/west divide!
Going out meant scrabbling through wardrobe for barely-used items like skirt, top and tights so I've had to tidy the debris today, ditto make-up.
I've been round the house putting away a few things in each room.
Next plan after coffee is to start the report of the student I'm Zooming with later today.
Need to do church flowers and vacuuming either today or tomorrow.
Want to update FB on swim training progress as it is 8 weeks to go.
Will do a bit of general vacuuming, in theory.
I'm not planning beyond that as I'll probably be asleep!
I hope everyone has a healthy, sunny and happy weekend.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.9 -
It's been raining here all morning too, although not very heavily. I stayed up late to watch some of the early election results, which I now regret as there wasn't much to learn at that stage (if at all) and it meant I was up late, even by my standards, which put me behind and left me feeling stressed. I ironed a pair of trousers for me and a pair of A's and then finally got myself ready, including washing my hair. Once dressed I filled the bucket for the cleaner who does the communal areas, wrote a card for our friend in Plymouth and took it to the post office and and bought a paper at the same time.I came back up and A wanted an early lunch so made that and then WUPA the breakfast and A's lunch things. Two of my eBay purchases had arrived so I opened those and put them away as I didn't think that just before a visit to the dentist was a good time to tell A I had bought some unnecessary things on eBay.I"m going to have my lunch now and then take A to the dentist.8

The visit to the dentist went well. A liked the dentist who told him that he could have root canal work and a crown or simply have the tooth removed. A didn't think that at his age it was worth the expense nor the hassle of repeated visits that a crown would require so he opted to have it removed. He needs to make another appointment for that though. The dentist built up the broken tooth as a temporary measure so it's no longer sharp. I looked at it and you would never know it wasn't just all A's real tooth. We came home and A wanted his tea early so I made him a cuppa and he had a chocolate eclair to celebrate a successful visit lol. I'll make myself a coffee in half an hour and then wash up.6

Well Ms Round and her waggy finger will be impressed as I sat in the garden this morning and read my book for an hour, then it rained!
Have done a bit of paid stuff, been to Lidl, and done a few odd bits of flying. Just had an unexpected visit from DS1 which was nice, blimey is that lad skinny though. He needs a blood test and MRI scan but doesn't want either in case something shows up.CofG glad the dentist went well. I like your suggestion for dealing with worries and you are right about trying to let the worries go. I have downloaded an app recommended by Mind so will see how that goes.
No paid stuff for 3 days and some nice plans, cycling with some old friends tomorrow morning which I am a tiny bit nervous about but it will be fine! x8 -
Living room cleaned. Vacuumed lamp shade *blush* and waggled radiator brush round radiator, too. Looks lovely, so much so I made DD fold the throw and drape it properly when she went to have her bath.
Co-workspace and toilet cleaned at work.

Good evening 😊
I'm sorry I haven't posted much this week. I had my visit from the lady from the LA on Tuesday, which was okay. The meeting was cut short as she needed to sit in on some ofsted feedback for another lady's inspection. The 2 tricky siblings turned up 10 minutes after she left! It went downhill from then as I got a headache (I blamed the squeaky toy!) which became a full blown cold by the evening!! Definitely just a cold though as 3 days later I am fine 👍 Breathing was a bit tricky Tuesday night though 🤧
Obviously, because I wasn't feeling well DH had to feel worse 🙄 He has been off work for the last 3 days! He has been moping about & not done much 😕 Honestly, it is just a cold!
Today I had the morning off, so 1 xWM dried in the TD (raining again 🤬), emptied the DW, phoned the service plan company to request the paperwork & tell them the service company are ripping people off, looked into a service plan with the dealership instead, prepared some paperwork for a phone call re the siblings with the HV & a did a small shop at Mr Al's. I Worked for a few hours this afternoon with older siblings (why do siblings always wrestle?! 🙄) Obviously the HV phoned as I was leaving for the school run 🤦♀️
Tonight I have been knitting - I have 8 rows left of the baby blanket for DD2. They had the scan yesterday so they will be telling us whether it is a pink one or blue one tomorrow 😬 I have a feeling it is another blue one, but I will have to wait & see!
Our big cat was playing in the DR with something as I was relaxing earlier, and I realised it was a rodent!! I chased him out with it & haven't seen him since. I sincerely hope he had brought it in and not caught it indoors!! 😱 It was a BIG mouse!!
Okay, I think I am going to bed now as I have said I will do the parkrun with DSisIL tomorrow. Night night all x
