Hi all
Thanks Fayolle, I am joining you in the medical dramatics. Set off to go to the post office from work, felt a bit odd, tried to sit on a wall to compose myself and the next minute some lovely lady is picking me up off the floor. Rang DH who insisted on collecting me rather than allowing me to cycle home.
So... running myself ragged has to stop. Somehow I also have to stop fretting about DH and money. He is not going to get PIP which is no surprise, but isn't well enough to work and things aren't getting any better.
Anyhow, in other news I did hang the washing out first thing, so that should be dry, and the DW is on and the kitchen is tidy. DH has fed me veggie chilli and I now have my feet up.10 -
Oh, YL, please look after yourself and give yourself a good dose of tlc. Lots of gentle hugs xx
Pigpen, my latest big bag of wool arrived today from w00lwareh0use. The colours are sooo pretty…
Back to work today. Busy, busy, still drinking lots of ginger green tea and water. Very little flying but luckily delegation has worked for once - Mr F has vacuumed upstairs, run the wm (I loaded it then forgot to switch it on this morning), he has even wiped out the fridge apparently.
In my pjs now, tossing up between knitting, my library book and an OpenLearn course that I couldn’t resist signing up last night.7 -
YL - yes, please look after yourself. I know from personal experience that it isn't always easy to find time just to relax or even do nothing but see if you can.Ionafan - glad my story made you laugh. She was a funny (but lovely) dog. Another funny thing she did was when my mother was preparing vegetable she would sit next to her and look longingly at the raw carrots and turnip until my mother gave her a couple of bits, which she would wolf down. What is your course Fayolle?Boyes - that's a blast from the past. Didn't there's used to be a wool shop on Holderness Road called, rather unimaginatively, The Wool Shop? I'm sure it's long gone. The rash on A's arms was really itchy during the night and he was concerned it might be a side effect of one of his meds. It may be of course but the problem with looking at the patient information leaflet for any drug is that they will list a hundred and one possible side effects. We discussed that and he decided he was going to ring the GP when they open for the second session in the afternoon. I then made us a coffee and WUPA the breakfast and coffee things after which I took a bag of recycling down and walked to the end of the road, mainly for a walk, but also to buy a couple of bits, including two books, which I definitely don't need as I have little time for reading and a reading list as long as your arm.I came back and made lunch, a Waitrose delivery arrived so I put that away and then the GP rang. She prescribed some other cream, which she said he should use use 5 times a day (in addition to the eye meds 6 times a day
) so I walked back to the end of the road to collect it. I came back and made tea, WUPA the tea things, made supper, cleaned the kitchen (apart from the floor which will have to wait until tomorrow), including bleaching the sink and washing up pad. I successfully bid for a couple of things on eBay that I wanted but don't need. I'm supposed to be de-cluttering, not re-cluttering.
Eye meds done so just A's breakfast things to put out, clean my teeth and I can go to bed.

Ooh YL…hope you’re ok
Work was v. v. mad…there was me thinking I would be having a quiet day. Did the cafe clean after too, and have been to see Back to Black… wow…Marisa Abela is incredible as Amy Winehouse.
DW and WM primed. Recycling out. There is a cobweb right above my bed, hanging from the ceiling…It will be eliminated tomorrow.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Do look after yourselves all you people!
I'm trying to work out how to fit everything in tomorrow. Non-negotiable are try to finish tough report, check greenhouse, go to drum lesson 3.30pm (as I pay a term in advance) , lake swim 5pm (as I need to keep the fitness up), dinner with friends 7.30pm(we were invited some time ago so it's been in the diary and I can't just plead too much to do), doing 2 flower arrangements (1 for dinner friend and the other, while I'm about it, for church - although the church one can be done on Friday). I'm booked in for Pilates at 12noon - or rather, I'm 2nd on the waiting list but that's almost bound to get me to the top by tomorrow - and I do enjoy it plus it's all added stuff for the fitness.....however, having middle-of-the-day appointments is a bit disruptive. I can cancel so long as it is by 11am so I guess I could see how far I've got with flowers and report by then. You will notice the rather lack of actual housework on there. Oh yes and I have to vote, don't I.
Fortunately today's student was relatively straightforward, albeit I need to do a bit more via Zoom on Friday. However I've just downloaded and printed details of a very complex one for 2 weeks time so have sent an email to my manager (along the lines of 'why me?' among other things i.e. pointing out the major mental health issues which is not what I am trained/intended to assess on their own).
I'm not going to write what I've achieved in the last 2 days as my time is probably better spent going to bed in preparation for tomorrow - although I may just do another bit of the report and put some oasis in to soak!Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.8 -
Please increase your self-care, YL x
Glad you're feeling better, Fayolle x
We had a good day out today yesterday - a very pleasant 35-mile drive to an excellent pub lunch - which included a big bowlful of beef offcuts with gravy for Rosie! The woods on the western side of the big hills were carpeted in native bluebells and a sight to behold. Then a visit to a very relaxed NGS garden with a small railway and lots of carvings, with tea and cake on the terrace, a view of the Cotswolds and glorious sunshine.
The sum total of my flying was S&S'ing the kitchen and picking up a handful of Rosie's moulted winter coat off the LR carpet.
This Yesterday evening I tried to finish off my 2023-24 tax schedules but got bogged down in bank statements. I shall have to leave them until Friday now, as tomorrow today I am looking after the Terrible Twosome (aka W and M) all day. Wish me luck!
I really must get some sleep. Hope you're all tucked up comfortably by now xxx7 -
Morning all
Please use your vote! Don’t forget your ID. I have already voted as I have a postal vote.
WM x 2, towels … so I’m hoping for a slightly breezy, wam and dry day. I’ve a half load standing by. DW x 1.
I want to get some ironing done today.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Morning all xx
I'm up, made my bed, dressed, packed my lunch bag, eaten breakfast and I'm supping my brew.
A tad concerned that flyfriends are passing out. 😳. Take care of yourselves my lovelies 😘
I think the blue tits have abandoned their efforts in my bird house. I've been sat watching a pair of starlings doing their best to fit through the hole - they can't, but that could be what frightened off my blue tits. There are starlings nesting in my shed roof and in next door's soffit. Wood pigeons nesting in the conifer tree, and I suspect blackbirds nesting in the conifer hedge. I also find hedgehog poo on the grass - no way is it lawn 🤣.
Ahhhhh. The blue tit was in the nesting box. It just flew out. 😳. Hopefully the starlings will give up because they can't get in. 🤞
You can tell I live a full life can't you? 😉
Anyhoo.
Look after yourselves or Dr Round will be visiting with her waggy finger!! You have been warned ⚠️ 😏
Have a good day
