Grass cut. I'm about to bath the green dog aka Poppet. Jobs carried over are getting rid of cobwebs and cleaning windows.Spend less now, work less later.8

Back from coffee / mint tea (thank you CoG, 3 pots consumed!), lunch, and a short stroll in the gorgeous sunshine. Lovely catch up, but then we do go back 26+ years, as we worked out.Came home, dusted upstairs, s&s bathrooms, decided that vacuuming was one step too far. I have delegated that job to DH for tomorrow. Let’s see if he does it.
Next job - HHI, then some admin as DH is wittering about needing some numbers that it seems only I can add up. As if.8 -
I didn't get anywhere near finishing my list today, but I have made inroads into it and completed a lot of the financial admin.
Rosie was in a strange mood today. DH is normally her second-favourite human (in her eyes I am definitely the alpha human), but when she saw him go out of the house at 8.15, she began to act as if she was very depressed - not coming to me for a fuss, hiding in corners, lying with her face turned away from me, not responding with the usual wag of her tail when I told her she was a good girl. I tried to take her out for a walk after lunch, but in the time it took us to walk 100 yards down the lane, she had already done 3 sit-down strikes, and when I put her lead on her she immediately turned round and dragged me back home. When DH returned at about 4.00 she cheered up immediately, made a big fuss of him, and since then has been her normal self, going to him for an occasional fuss and playing mad games with me. Prima donna!
We're all (i.e. the three of us) going out for the day tomorrow, weather permitting, to the big hills to the south of us (just for a change from the big hills nearby), to visit an NGS open garden. I need to find a dog-friendly pub for lunch.
Glad you enjoyed meeting up with your friend, Fayolle x
I must ring DD now, for a catch-up - I keep forgetting! Then early to bed. Thank goodness, I appear to have got away with no ill effects from the C jab apart from some soreness in my upper arm, which is far less painful than my knee. I am falling apart.
Hope everyone gets a good night's sleep xxx8 -
A lovely walk by the canal, in the opposite direction to last week’s walk, and back again. Beautiful day, lovely and warm. I made Greek Salad for lunch…which reminds me I need some Greek assistance and Iona…i might have to ask you to ask your Greek friend. It’s about tzatziki.
..two portions, so i can take one to work tomorrow. We had wraps and salad for tea and the old digestive system is coping. I think lettuce is still risky. I have brought in washing, hand washed a hand knit, cleaned kitchen and bathroom. Doors open mats outside and floor dried quickly. In bed now, and neither theWM nor the DW will be used as neither have a full load waiting.
Ooh nearly forgot…cleaned cooker hood filters…very hot water, soda and 2 dw tablets. Rinsed well and they are drying…Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Glad you're feeling better Fayolle, and the mint tea helped.Ionafan, dogs are funny aren't they. When I was a child we had a dog who would only go for a walk around the block in one direction. If you tried to take her the other way (and it was just a circular route so you went past the same things) she would sit down and refuse to budge.Minimal flying done today. I have felt slightly under the weather in a rather non-specific way, so just food prep and washing up. A's rash and flaky skin seemed almost completely resolved this morning but this evening the rash came back a bit and he wasn't feeling too clever either so he's had an early night. We did get to Kensington Gardens this morning though, which was nice. I also took him to the chemist for his covid booster but the pharmacist that does them wasn't in today so he couldn't have it. We both decided this evening though not to have it until we feel back to normal, as it doesn't seem sensible to have it if we're feeling 'off'.Hope everyone has a good night.7

Your dog story made me laugh, CoG
I have made a bit more progress on my tax schedules this evening, but I may need to ring one of the banks later this week to get some tax certificates for closed accounts that are no longer showing on their website.

Good morning all xx
I'm up, made my bed, dressed, packed my lunch bag, eaten breakfast and I'm supping my brew.
I paid my parking charge over the phone yesterday. Then, on my way home from the paid stuff, I called at PO and paid my rent, C Tax, leccy bill, and withdrew cash to pay the hairdresser on Friday. Window cleaner came and was paid on Monday.
Had tea at the village pub with two ex colleagues. Enjoyed the catch up. And then came home to my knitting. (If I disappear tis because I'm knitting. Currently I'm knitting the helmet to match the jacket that's waiting to be sewn up. 😍) Plan is to visit Boyes on my week off and buy buttons, a stash of wool, a couple more patterns maybe, then sew up the jacket and put the buttons on.
Have a good day.

WHITE RABBITS ...
Squeak is on the bus.. I was mean and forced her to go in because I have loads to get done and can' be supervising her.. We are trying a new strategy of 'the world won't revolve around you so you meet people who are trying to help you part way.' We shall see.
Cuppa.. and cracking on.
Took us ages to get Polly in last night .. shes not allowed out after dark because she becomes impossible to get in but it was sunny so she wanted to stay out then refused to come in.. ggrrr
