Evening turtles
Managed to finish work early yesterday as planned and headed off to the gym. Small spends as I ordered a new strap for my watch as broke the last one, and a WiFi booster - even though we live in a flat the WiFi doesn't reach either bedroom properly and it causes issues with work. It was only £16. Did two loads of washing last night to save myself doing them today, they actually dried overnight so it was worthwhile.
Today I got up early, washed out my rabbits' litter trays and cleaned my aquariums. The hoover broke, a very structural bit has come off and it's not looking good! We have a handheld one we can use while we figure out if we can fix it but if not we'll have to get a new one.
Went to the gym for boxing class today, then OH and I walked to a local place for lunch (his idea but we split the cost). I also did a bulk buy of hay for the rabbits this morning, much cheaper and better quality than the pet shop stuff.Save £2,400 tuition fees - £2,321.04 as of 08/24

ThriftyT, I just remember composite doors costing a whole lot more than standard upvc ones. But they do come in lots of lovely colours!Today I am grateful for an easy morning, for laundry drying outside, for a friend of pip's+ mum coming over for a natter, for coffee and coffee cake!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!6

Thanks @apple_muncher. The man in the next village did say they were dearer, when he dropped the brochures off. I had a little play online this morning & requested a quote from the manufacturer. We're quite drawn to a yellow or red door. With the wild weather on our island, we need something that'll withstand the elements & stormy winters! Keep telling DH that it'll be better to pay a bit (lot!) more to get something that we want & will last longer, so we'll see.
When DS1 had finished his breakfast shift, we went to town & took mum shopping. Dropped 6 big bags of sewing off & collected 4 smaller bags. Going to be a busy week!
Had a short nap after dinner & putting the shopping away, then spent all afternoon & an hour after tea weeding the front garden. Still a third to go, but it's looking so much better.
Watched a programme with DH, then another by myself & did some knitting. I'm now on the rib of my cardigan (knitted from the neck down). Still have the sleeves to knit, then have to steel it (cut it up the front 🤯, which I've never done before!!).
Grateful for the lovely plants emerging from the weed jungle, Swallows flying overhead, mum seeing the dress I've had my eye on in T0sco for a couple of months reduced by £10 & getting it. I've reimbursef her from my birthday money 😃Use it up, wear it out

I would go for the composite door if I could @Thrifty_Taylor. Hi turtles! I hope you've had a good weekend. I've had a very quiet one, just me and the dog (another dog, not my usual dog) and I've been able to do a lot of thinking and hopefully made some decisions on some life adminy things!!
Today I woke up early and went to the Thyssen museum, I get in for free as I bought a discounted yearly pass through work. This was my "artist's date" this week. I wanted to see an exhibition by Isabella Quintanilla, a realist painter (saw it before but there were too many people, so I wanted to go again). Ended up spending a while there. Was very inspiring. Then came back to the apartment, ran 30 min on the treadmill and had a sauna, and made an early dinner of air fried chickpeas, tofu and sweet potato. I had never used an air fryer before... loved how it all turned out. Am trying to eat more protein so must make a real effort on this.
Still on NSD 4. Morning pages done, meditation done, no booze this weekend.
Grateful for some mental clarity, for the dog I'm looking after being more relaxed today, for coffee and sunshine and air fryers!!!!Student loan £5655

NSD 8 today, did not go out, had a lovely morning and afternoon ironing and doing laundry and hoovering. The house looks better for it to be honest, but by 'eck it is boring. Made a tray of packet mix brownies for lunch boxes tomorrow. They are safe, I do not understand brownies so can happily leave them alone. I have no interest in them.Yesterday I was very clever and filled the freezer with ice poles, ice push-pops, ice lollies, and a couple of ice cream cones. They are going down well with the boys, and it is all extra liquid. For some ungodly reason it was 26 degrees here this afternoon It was only supposed to be 21!! So all the windows are open, 5 loads of laundry has been dried on the line, and lots of ice related items have magically disappeared from the fridge.I have released my sundresses from the vacuum pack storage bag. I am ready for summer nearly- I will be by bedtime.Don't forget your suncream, there are going to be lots of lobster-people walking about tomorrow, don't be one of them!4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Thank you @beanielou, I am thinking that way too!
Another NSD.
Was woken 12 times in the night by DS1&2! I'm not a happy bunny. Hopefully when we get the new door, they will be quieter going in/outside!
Did Norwegian & washed the dishes, then went for a walk with DH. DS3 came back from his GF's early, so collected him from the bus, then spent the afternoon doing more weeding.
After tea I unpicked a zip & replaced it.
I too, have got the box with my summer clothes in from the shed. Put on a pair of shorts to garden, but haven't got anything else put away yet or my winter things in the box. A job for tomorrow!
Grateful for a nice walk, getting the link for my auntie's funeral tomorrow, time in the garden & you lot! 🐢🐢🐢rule 😃Use it up, wear it out

Evening turtles
Last night we went to a eurovision party at a friend's, all very camp and fun. Had a banging headache for some reason by the time we got home but luckily it eased off overnight.
Today was up relatively early, got a load of washing on and out to dry in the sunshine, then OH and I went to take my share horse out together. Glorious day and a lovely ride. Came home, did a bit of life admin, had a bath and made dinner. Halfway through making dinner I got a calendar notification that I was meant to be at a sound bath in 10 minutes! I couldn't leave the dinner at that point and I'd have been late, from past experience they lock the door once they start to avoid interruptions so I missed it... annoyed with myself as wasted £10, and I've forgotten it once before so I should have known better but nothing I could've done at that point. Next time I'll make sure I set the calendar notification for 30 minutes before so that I have enough time to get there!Save £2,400 tuition fees - £2,321.04 as of 08/24

I did a longish post yesterday but the connection cut out before I could post it. I left it open but couldn't get my connection back until late afternoon and had to go downstairs and huddle close to the modem to get that much.
I've been doing lots of pondering. When I fell downstairs I said I'd been expecting it. The reality is I've been subconsciously devoting a lot of time to avoiding falling. I think grandma's house is out and the bungalow option is the way forward.
I've seen one I like (not viewed yet, just online) but am trying not to set my heart on it, as I'm not sure how I can afford it. It would be a considerable step forward as the bathroom has an open shower. This is something I'd need to do either here or at grandma's when I could afford it (so a 'saving' of £8 - 10K). There are walk in showers but the step in looks like too much of a hazard. I looked at 3 other options yesterday which were cheaper but needed more work. They were 3-4 miles away, 5'6 miles away and all the way over in St Helens (I'm not ready to be a wooly back). The cheapest one was horrendous (ghastly carpets and time warp decoration - would have needed lots of money to make it fit for moving in.
The one I like is in Leigh but on the edge of the town centre (beyond the retail parks). The flooring and decoration is mostly what I would choose, it's small but enough and has a large outdoor space and a separate garage (guest wing?) which has a door and windows and is at right angles to the house.
So I need to look at that, check my finances and the estate ones and work out a way forward. I've spent most of this week nursing my injuries and mulling over options.
Grateful for deliveries, easy food options, taking the first steps in a new direction (although it seems like they're coming monthly atm)10
