I live in Birmingham but already have a sole and joint Danske account. I opened it while back when none NI people could have applied.
If I opened another current account me and my wife both are customers. We both will qualify for £200 each?0 -
No, because you're not new customers. If you closed your accounts, you'd not be able to apply since you're not resident in NI.superM said:I live in Birmingham but already have a sole and joint Danske account. I opened it while back when none NI people could have applied.

If you opened a savings account (which you can do as an existing Danske customer) then closed your current account... well you're in a grey area basically but in my opinion for lack of any definition of new customer then you would be eligible judging by the precedent set by the FOS with relation to similar ambiguity in the terms of a previous offer run by the Co-op Bank.3 -
If they do that they're new Danske current account customers whilst being current Danske customers which I would think qualifies them for the bonus. Whether Danske see it that way is another story, and both superM and Mrs superM may need to be need to be prepared to put up a fight with Danske, similar to the Co-op case.WillPS said:

Hi all.
Is there anyone who is mainland based without any account with Danske, who has applied for a savings account, waited for it to be complete then applied to switch? Or is it not allowed to be a mainland saver under their rules?
Thanks for any feedback0 -
Unless you can see any differently (and please do share, I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd appreciate it!), the savings accounts have the same 'new customer in NI or existing customer in UK' eligibility criteria, unfortunately.londoner62 said:Hi all.

Thanks for any feedbackTo become a new Danske customer you must be resident in NI.
There are only 2 ways (that I can see) that GB residents can partake in this offer:
1: You became a new Danske customer when it was possible for GB residents to do so and have kept your Danske account open.
2: You became a new Danske customer when previously living in NI, but then moved to GB and have kept your Danske account open.

Yup, thanks both. I just asked their bot about opening a savings account and one of the questions was do you live in NI. Ah, well....0

Just seen this offer today. I’ve completed the application for an account and received email to say they will review within 2 business days. The offer will probably be withdrawn soon so hopefully won’t miss out
don’t even need any DD’s for this one! 0 -

Did you do it on the website? I did it using the QR code. It seems those using the QR code submit photo ID and selfie. Those applying on the website will receive an email with a link to digitally sign your account documents.Aidanmc said:I just applied for the Choice current account.Didn't ask for any selfie or id thoughSame as that, never asked any switching details, just name on account.Email said, ' We will be in touch with you within two business days'Any word back from Danske re account opening?edit, just had an email saying account approved, nothing about acc details/switching0 -
I was married on St Patrick's Day that must mean I'm virtually Irish. 😀😀1
