Love the sound of the salmon rice salad @Coxy11. Ideal for a packed lunch. 😋Hope your trip goes well.

Good to see you posting again @Abbafan1972. I agree that no one will mind if you did return to one of the previous groups but if you don't want to then just stick to the SW principles and that weight will come off. I'm sure you'll feel better if you do. 🤗

You're right about the French and Uht milk @joedenise. Fresh milk is a tiny section of most supermarkets. Maybe it's because they drink more coffee than tea. I think it's more obvious in tea.

I do hope you have a better night's sleep @bubbs

    Today's plan -
B- HEB toast, egg, bacon (P), baked beans (F), HEA milk for drinks
    L- ham (P), 1 potato (F), LO veg and pickles (S)
    D- lamb hotpot (P, S, F), cauliflower, broccoli, cabbage (S)
Syns - all visible fat that I didn't remove from lamb! 🤣

Hope you all enjoyed your lunch @bubbs. It's not often you go out to eat. How is your mum? 🤔

  • @Coxy11 @maman I'm not able to go back to group as it either during working hours or clashes with other evening things that can't be moved. I'm sure going  to group is really what I need but until something changes home wise I'm just going to have to be more disciplined at home. But I have a holiday that will hopefully keep me motivated...

Today was meant to be my cricket game but after so much rain and and the sky looking grey I'm not sure that's going to happen.

Been AWOL for a few days, busy catching up on washing, home admin and the hated task of equipping/re-equipping the caravan for our first trip out tomorrow, off to S. Yorks to catch up with family for a few days.
In terms of SW - I have been trying really hard to keep to plan, or close to it, skipped meeting and WI yesterday, and likely will miss next week too, my own scales are showing O.K. weight so need to do a food plan and a bit of a shop on Friday, expecting to have 1 meal out, but may be more.  In terms of MSE so fed up with the ever rising prices - 9p inc on bag of apples and pears this week quite a few OOS - the end of the world almost no bananas or little easy peelers :o

Oooh pease pudding - that's a throwback right there! Thanks @bubbs xx

For those of you who can't get to a group this thread is the next best thing (sometimes better because we say it like it is!). Please keep posting xx

Train company have said "train might not run" so do we take a chance and go for it?! Yes @beanielou it has come round quickly but last came back from JoGLE on 9 September! DH has ordered me a new sit mat - I lost one on the West Highland Way and he says my newish one is not good quality (he borrows it for his camping trips). Hoping new one will be delivered later today!

Morning all, can't believe how much rain we had last night although had stopped by this morning but was very grey.  Didn't have enough washing to make up a load so have just washed all the floor cloths and rags (old towels) which DH has been using for cleaning his scooter as it's going in for it's MOT tomorrow.  Just hoping it isn't raining as it's horrible riding in the rain.  I'll be OK I'll be in my car following him down so I can bring him back.  Will probably pop into Tesco to pick up a few things for the weekend as we're going off to Canterbury again on Friday after DH has been for his eye test.  I've just had to rejig my menu plan to make sure it's meals I can cook in the van easily - eg had planned a fish pie but no way I'm making that in the van for 2 reasons - 1.  because of the smell and 2. the oven is absolutely useless so don't bother using it - quite honestly it's a waste of space!

Can't believe it's over 6 months since your last hike @Coxy11.  When are you actually planning on setting out this time and for how long?  Hope your new sit mat arrives later today.

@maddiemay - this thread does certainly help keep you on track when you don't or can't get to group so definitely make use of it when you can't go.  I've stopped going after nearly 13 years as my holidays just keep getting in the way!

I weighed again this morning and although I've stuck to plan I can't believe I've put back on the lb I lost last week so now back to 1.5lb over target!  Will just have to keep plodding as @beanielou tells us!

I've made a batch of marmalade this morning while DH is out at golf (which is why I swapped breakfast and lunch today!).  It's made 7.5 jars so should keep DH going for a while, although having said that he doesn't actually eat that much but just prefers home made to shop bought so I only make it about once every 18 months or so!

    Today's plan:

B - bacon and mushroom sandwich
L - boiled eggs, asparagus to dip
D - pork steaks, mash, veg

    HEA - milk
    HEB - bread
Syns - LF spread 2.5; butter 2 (can't eat asparagus without a bit of butter!)

Hope everyone is having a good day.  I'm quite enjoying a bit of ME time without DH being around.  Been while since that happened as he hasn't been able to play golf either because of the course being too wet or because his knee's been playing up so it's good both things are good today!

PS. Just checked the date on the last jar of marmalade and I made the last batch in January 2022 so just over 2 years ago so even less often that I said in the main message!
