Tonight's effort is fried rice, I've cooked some good quality basmati via the absorption method and am mildly amused that it is all standing up vertically in the pan. I have never noticed this before. I have leftover chicken (spatchcocked and marinated in yoghurt, and served with salad and HM coleslaw last night) and some rather chewy roast beef from earlier in the week that wants eating or feeding to the dogs. I suspect even the dogs will give it back so I will chop and marinade shortly. I've also got many onions, peppers and mushrooms and eggs so I am sure I can make something edible. I added a star anise to the rice so DS2 probably will not eat it, but might add some flavour for the rest of us.The short dated and refunded blueberries made a nice thingy (compote?) when heated with a bit of sugar and lemon juice and then served cold, which stopped them from getting any worse and has been nice with yoghurt apparently. I can't abide yoghurt. Can you see a recurring theme of 'fussy and faddy?'My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

I’ll have a look at the diabetes website, thanks. The heart one is big on low salt…I didn’t realise salt was bad for heart health. So many things to remember. Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

After a week of a bit more exercise, trying to eat more healthily and will power I have lost …. 1/2lb! 😂😂😂😂
Trying to spin this to a positive - I think some of this delay / slow, loss is probably the overshoot that I normally see after indulgence (Easter chocolate) so I am being determinedly happy that I haven’t gained!KKAs at 15.07.25:
