Self sabotage by me.I’m having a challenging couple of days - no walking in the day yesterday due to lunchtime meeting but running around the building internally from issue to issue did get me to 7K steps. Yesterday was such a full day I didn’t have time to get my lunch together for today and I have no time to go to the canteen so have a collection of ’picky bits for lunch’ ….
I am managing to persist on the mostly not snacking or eating any junk between meals and still sticking to one square of chocolate per day.KKAs at 15.07.25:

@Less_Talk_and_More_Action Mr L is a chef you say.......I am so jealous. I've been a widow for a long time now and when the HT asked me what I missed about his dad a few years back my answer was "enchiladas" - the boy was horrified 🤣🤣🤣 It's so boring being the sole person responsible for meals here. One third of the household (me) cooks, one third of the household (him) has very little interest in food and the last third of the household (the cat) is very interested in human food but can't open the fridge or reach the cooker.
I'd forget the "self sabotage" @redofromstart. We all have problems here - over eating, overbuying, emotional eating....there's probably a good few more that can be added to that list. That's why this thread is here for some gentle support. Forgive your perceived wrongs and move on. Plan a better day because you are worth it and see how it goes. If it doesn't happen exactly to plan then at least you've identified an area that needs some work. I get carrots into the HT once a week by the way and baked beans possibly twice, that is all in the way of veg. He seems to be surviving.
@KajiKita I hope that you survive the day on just your picky bits. I had a busy day too yesterday but I'm home most of today thank goodness.
I'm sorry that I've been MIA folks. I think that the HT is far enough progressed in his game that he can leave me out of it for now 😁 My sister wanted a parcel for her birthday this year rather than something from the big river company. I bought things and made a parcel only to spend 20 minutes and £15 in the post office yesterday while the lady figured out how to post it. She tried to send it a slightly cheaper way but then she gave up and we did it the usual way (complete with customs label now that we've left the EU). I was late for collecting the boy coming back from uni and lunch was an orange and an apple. I'd already done the grocery shopping before I went to the post office and I was only released from gaming in time to make dinner (boy has his priorities right).
Take care all of you 😊6 -
@CRANKY40. That made me laugh about the enchiladas. Mr L isn’t a professional chef but when he took (very) early retirement part of the deal was that he transformed himself into a domestic god 🤣. My job has travelling attached to it and his contribution is to keep the home fires burning, so to speak. He has embraced this very well and I definitely appreciate it. He will also eat the same as me and when we plan it works well.I’m not totally convinced our Labrador hasn’t worked out how to open the fridge. He ignores many kitchen sounds as beneath his notice but he can hear cheese being opened from about 5 miles away 🤣. I may have that in common with him!!!!I agree with your comment about being kind to ourselves. I have a lot to lose but all I can do is keep moving forward and aim to make progress.L x4

Labradors have special cheese ears I think @Less_Talk_and_More_Action. My old girl can’t possibly get up when you want her to move, but arrives like magic at a sniff of cheese.@CRANKY40 I would also miss the enchiladas. The most I can hope for is a slice of toast and a coffee 😅Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

@Less_Talk_and_More_Action a lab that we used to have could open the fridge. He ate everything in there apart from the lettuce twice before my parents figured out a way to keep the fridge closed.
@WinterWarrior yes, I get stupid happy if anyone makes me a coffee and some toast.
The late great MrC could also make a really good g&t and a fairly good roast dinner. he learned to cook at uni as a "mature" (hahaha) student because he couldn't afford not to. He also discovered at this time that if he bought a single carrot to make soup with it weighed so little that the supermarket just gave it to him for free.5 -
Our lab would like to know the secret to fridge opening @CRANKY40. I need to know the secret of fridge closing 🤣🤣

@Less_Talk_and_More_Action I won't tell the dog if you don't. There is something about a fridge though - my son spends a fair while looking into ours waiting for food to magically appear. Sometimes he holds his cat because she likes a good fridge inspection too just in case there are any prawns in there.
Meals today are peanut butter and banana toast for breakfast, lunch is a packed lunch at BF's (made by me for both of us).The HT has gone to uni and will get himself a toastie on the way home. Dinner tonight is a pulled beef wrap with fries and salad for me and beef wrap and fries for the HT who does not eat green things.
There's no chance of gardening as exercise today as it's raining again. My garden is like a swamp as it's built on clay soil and even BF's garden which is nearer to the coast and dries very quickly as it has a more sandy base is soaking. Sigh. It's strange how pipelines can be built to carry oil but rainwater which is equally precious in some parts of the word is left to stay where it is and flood people's homes.
Take care all of you 😊5 -
I’m quietly sustaining reasonable if not excellent eating habits. Struggling to get much more steps in as have soooo many meetings atm (it’s gone nuts in work). Crossing my fingers for a loss on Saturday morning (when I typically weigh) as I am ‘feeling’ a bit smaller …. 😊
I am planning a treat on Sunday - HM rhubarb crumble with ground almonds in the crumble and ice cream 😊 I think a treat once a week is allowed 😊

Apologies, AWOL but reasonably on plan. The self sabotage was the simple act of making PNB cookies - I dont buy them and I am mostly the only one who eats them.
That crumble sounds spot on Kajikita, love ground almonds.
I was definitely less bloated if not down on the scales.
Wednesday and Friday walks done inbetween being busy. It would have been so easy to make excuses but I like walking more than I like eating salad. I hope everyone else is doing well?
