Doing well so far, avoided temptation to have a glass of wine or ginger biscuit last night so pleased with that.

Not calorie logging yet but keeping a rough mental log and coming in well under daily allowance plus getting out for a 15 minute walk at lunchtime.

In the office today so that will mean lots of steps - car park is on fourth floor and the toilet is as far away from my desk as it can be!

Have you tried crispy kale?  Just lay on a tray in medium oven for about 10 minutes (keep an eye on it as it burns very quickly!). Makes it more bearable!!!!

I have just found lots of recipes on the British heart foundation site. I was searching for 5 a day type recipes and stumbled upon these. They all look very straight forward, so I might try a few.
    Ooh, that sounds interesting 😊

Another pretty good day. Did manage one circuit of the site at lunchtime (normally aim for two), stuck to planned eating, went through all my veggie / vegan recipes when I got home and reminded myself of the mashed lemon butter beans recipe I used to eat a lot when I lived away during the week. Had that instead of frozen chips which Mr KK had for tea tonight 😊 Quite proud of myself for that one 😊
One square of chocolate after dinner 💪

Step count helped by leaving my phone in the car and only realised when I got tonky desk so back to the car it was... Managed 12k steps today and back in the office tomorrow morning (hopefully minus the returning to the car!)

KK mashed lemon butter beans sounds lovely. Crispy kale sounds interesting on the other hand!

Doing well with the eating. Overnight oats made for breakfast and lunch sorted so keeping up with being organised so far.

    Good morning,

I had chicken, salad and flatbread last night which was the other half of the takeaway from the night before. The HT offered to pay because he wanted pizza. I'm good with anything that I don't have to cook but I actually missed the fruit that I've been having. I had lunch at BF's on Wednesday (healthy made by me) and I had coffee out with my dad's cousin yesterday.

I ran out of blood oranges so I nipped into the supermarket on the way home yesterday and bought some more, yum. I have one with the fruit salad. I've also given up "diet" pop or anything else with sweetener in. There's a tin of chickpeas on the counter today, ready to try the roasted chickpea thing but I'm taking the HT out for a small walk and a coffee first.

@KajiKita lemon butter beans sound ok. I haven't eaten butter beans since my mum stopped trying to force them into me when I was small (I didn't like baked beans either but I'm more used to them now).

    Hello all

I'd like to join your group if OK.  Have just read all your posts and you inspired me to put some soup on for lunch (spicy lentil and tomato).  I'm trying to lose weight and save money but am currently in a bit of a slump so anything can distract me from my sensible path!  I live about a mile and a half from my closest town and don't have a car so getting my steps in every day is pretty easy... but, as I live in a small town with lots of independent shops ( which I don't want to close) I find myself buying something/anything (normally food related) to ensure that they will stay open. It's hard to be altruistic and to save money!

Anyway... there are some lovely smells coming from the kitchen so thanks again for the inspiration and I look forward to being part of the gang!

  • Weighed myself this morning and have lost 2 lbs. Happy with that - only another 16 to go!! Why is it so easy to put the weight on, but so difficult to take off? Oh well, when I finally DO get to my desired weight I’m determined never to go above half a stone, and if I do, will strive to get it off before it escalates.

I’m not purposely following the 5/2 (or any other similar time restriction diet) but I feel that the longer I weight before eating works for me. Keeping busy during the day helps as well.
