It represents a lot of very much enjoyed cheese and wine and biscuits. Generally what goes on quickly comes off again quickly and I have been moving a lot more which should help.
I have tidied the workshop enough to get to the treadmill, so I have no excuse really.
I have rediscovered slimline bitter lemon which gives me something to drink that doesn't involve caffeine or alcohol so that is good.beanielou said:jwil said:How's everyone doing? My 3lb has gone againI've done quite well this week, I'm pleased.

I have had a tough couple of weeks with a really bad cold (Mr KK has known me for c. 20 years and says he’s never known me have such a bad bug). Exercise has not been possible and I have been eating, more or less, what I feel like as I needed to eat when I could / to line my stomach for painkillers. Overall though I have been eating fairly healthily.
I am coming out of it with no loss, but no gain either. I’m hoping to get back to it all this week, as I am finally starting to feel a bit better (coughing less, sleeping better). I will try and get out for some lunchtime walks again and restart my morning weights practice. 🤞KKAs at 15.07.25:
- When bought house £315,995 mortgage debt and end date at start = October 2039 - now £233,521
- OPs to mortgage = £11,816 Interest saved £5,28 to date
Fixed rate 3.85% ends January 2030

On a whim I got up this morning and did week 1, run 1 of couch to 5k. I'm very pleased with myself! I don't run, as being in a larger body it would do my knees no good, but I walk as fast as I can on the running sections. I did it once before like this and even though I didn't run it really improved my fitness.
It was lovely being out there with the sun coming up. I must try and stick to it. It was noticeable how much fitter I am now than last time I did it, so that's a bonus as well"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". I hadn’t thought that just walking quickly in the run sections would have such a positive effect. I’ve tried running before but it doesn’t suit me as it jars my back. Thanks for the hint … 🤔

KKIt certainly worked for me, but I'm not a fit person. It might have less impact if you are already fit, but as long as you are pushing yourself, then it should have an impact, and certainly can't hurt to give it a try

I did ct5k years ago and found it really effective. I don't think running will ever be an option again with my dodgy ankle (although the mid height trainers with built in elastic ankle support are brilliant, I was living in laced up boots till I got them) but fast walking the jog bits makes sense.I think the walkfit walk routines are essentially based on that build up cycle of slow walk/fast walk. I like them because if I start that up before my music then it does the prompts over my music. I have sleep type headband headphones for walking which stop my ears from getting cold and keeps my hair out of my eyes.It is now 4 weeks until the weekend away for the big walk (my late husbands favourite hill with his sons, and his best friend) so I need to step up my efforts, and actually do my physio regularly. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese
