joedenise said:@jwil - your scales will definitely weigh more accurately on a hard floor than on a carpeted floor. I am still a bit flat, and the weather hasn't helped. All of the carbs and not enough movement. I will be lucky if I get a maintain this week."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". I ordered a big bundle of SW cookbooks, hopefully to give me some inspiration. Most of the pressured projects at work are over for now, so hopefully I can breathe for a bit and try and do less 'grabbing and going'."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Quick update
I’ve had 2 canteen lunches 🤦♀️
stayed out of the biscuit tin 👍
35 fruit and veg this week 👍
only 1 gym session but 3 x swim 🏊
drinking more water 💦
portion size not good for canteen lunch but otherwise much better
school walk increased x 4 so that’s an improvement
it’s only been a week, feels like months 😂.Hope everyone is doing ok.2 -
That sounds like some great changes. Hope the scales are kind. Have you done measurements for when they are not?Mixed here, moving more but not eating as well as I should. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Moving more is good @redofromstart especially in this weather. I am still doing the school walk - the wind was so chilly today.Fruit and veg is at least 5 a day sometimes more 😊
saved money as no canteen lunches 👍
failed on mini gym ☹️ not motivated enough it seems. but have been swimming x 2 this week
We Have so many sweet treats at work this time of year so I’ve had to stay out of the staff room altogether so can’t be tempted!
Now aiming for 2 litres of water a day, it’s not so easy in the winter though I find as I fancy a nice warm cup of tea.
Portion size is smaller but I am having to distract myself a lot from snacking. Hope it gets easier.
i have not been near the tape measure but I have some work trousers that are too tight. I wore them today and they are not uncomfortable so that’s a good sign. I will see how they are after Christmas!2 -
Delurking to say tea can count towards your fluid intake - it doesn't all have to be water!3

Hope everyone enjoyed Christmas.
I have done very little exercise as the weather was mostly wet and windy as we travelled up north for the week.
Thankfully stayed away from the sweet treats, but the cheese board was my downfall.
I ate a lot of fruit and veg, and drank a reasonable amount of water ( and tea!)
I’m glad i started the healthy eating before Christmas as i would be much worse off now otherwise.
Thank you for the encouragement- it’s hard trying to stay on track!
can’t believe it’s almost 2025, wishing you all the best 😊

Like you @D123456789 I am glad I started this before Christmas!
I didn't go to SW for a fortnight because I was struggling with the whole bereavement and Christmas thing. 3.5lbs on last night which is isn't bad considering I spent the weeks in between completely off plan and doing very little exercise. I was also introduced to the phrase 'You can't out walk your fork' which amused me.
Anyway back on plan now, although I am very tempted by a last glass of wine tonight before I try for 'no buy' January.
I have a major walk planned early March and I must be fitter (and ideally lighter for my poor joints) by then.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese
