  • Is it soya beans themselves that are high protein? I don't mind them as part of mixed green veg.

5lb is a great kick start.

I’m not mad keen on soya beans either … Reminds me of Japan which isn’t necessarily a good thing! 😉

    Morning all 😊

Last week was a maintain which I found a bit demoralising, but I gave a myself a talking to, was honest about the snacking … 🙄😉😂 and started again. Lost a lb this week 😊 Could have counted it as 12, 5 rather than 12, 6 but as it was at 7/8 of a lb I rounded it up! 😉 Hopefully I should get that next lb, this coming week …. 🤞

Still learning new food options. The eggs and cottage cheese mix in the air fryer works well. Quark and egg is okay but actually the cottage cheese option has a slightly more interesting texture - the quark option would be good as a custard but I tend towards savoury.

I am trying to find other options for frying - cooking mushrooms in a diluted miso soup sachet works well 😊 as well as options for interesting sides that are veg heavy but low calorie without just boiling everything (which makes me reach for the butter! 😉). Going to try a cheez sauce this week with spinach - there’s some butter but the flavour mainly comes from mustard, lemon and nooch. 😊

Another thing I did last night was rearranging my meal layout … Instead of having cheese on the bolognese next to the buttered baked spud, I put the (weighed) cheese on the spud and avoided the butter altogether 👏😊

Well done on the loss!  What is the eggs and cottage cheese - is it like a quiche?

I need a real kick up the rear. I haven't made any effort at all, and not really getting much exercise either. I haven't weighed myself recently so don't know what damage I've done.

I was aiming to come up with something edible that was reasonably high protein but low fat. Yes, I suppose it does come out a bit like a quiche filling, but a bit wetter. I have tried mustard in the mix - okay but not brilliant, marmite - better. Gonna try finely sliced mushroom next week 😊

What is (are) your motivator(s)? I find keeping those in mind really helps. For me it’s:
    - I want to feel not self conscious / confident in a work context / in my clothes
    - I want more energy
    - I want to sleep better
    - I want a different outcome to my mum who is now obese, pre diabetic, hates her physical being and is struggling to get up and down stairs but still won’t do anything about it … 🤷‍♀️

Mixed results here, last week was a 3lb gain which shamed me into action.  3.5lb loss this week.

SW does work for me but only if I actually stick to it (she says, eating chocolate covered pistachios!)
