Weight loss and healthy eating for a debt free life

teapot2 said:I've been eating lots of salad which also helps with the energy bill as not using hob or oven much other than to boil eggs or roast veg to put with couscous. I find it hard to keep going with salad once the weather gets colder so end up resorting to more carb heavy meals 🙄"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". I make soup for lunch year round [forgot that I use the hob for that too]. My current fave is a tin of mixed beans with whatever veg is in the fridge chopped up small. Usually pepper, carrot, onion, garlic and sweet potato. I simmer that with a tin of tomatoes, water and veg stock. Usually put in a few chilli flakes and sometimes add frozen sweetcorn and or peas to up the veg count. Yum 🥣🥕🥫🍅3

Hello all 😊
Long time no see!I have started again as my weight was just going up and up … 😳
I finished work (settlement situation) about four weeks ago and last week I started again with new-tra-check - this is the best way I have found of tracking where I am tripping myself up but it is horribly time consuming so I am using this time when I am looking for a new role to sort my health / weight out a bit.The first few weeks were just about catching up with sleep and dissipating cortisol. Now my focus has switched to stretching, core strength and losing weight.I weighed at 12 stones 11lbs a week ago! 😳 Am hoping for a drop this weekend …
My biggest challenge is getting enough protein as a veggie without taking in too many carbs / fats. Trying to find a way to make tofu edible to my palette! 😉

Funnily enough I have just started up again
Kajikita. I've signed up for SW in the village, not least because it makes me do something social. I've had wine and chocolate tonight after yet another difficult day, but I did resist a takeaway and have also
just done 10k on the exercise bike.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Welcome back! KK good luck in the job hunt. Redo good luck with SW.
I've gone completely off track and need to start again. I've been considering going to SW as I think I need something to keep me focussed.
Good luck everyone."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee1 -

Hi what's tofu like in a smooth soup? Would you still be able to taste it if you couldn't see it? V x

Mixed food wise, did ok till I got cross about admin. Did do another 10k on the bike, and just under 10k for steps. How has everyone else done today? My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Thanks for the hello @jwil 😊
Welcome back @beanielou 😊
Today is a fresh sheet @redofromstart and all those cycling and walking muscles will be consuming calories for you 💪 😊
Weighed in this morning. Lost 5lbs (a LOT of which will be water) but it does explain why I am feeling better already. Biggest learnings are portion sizes and how short of protein I am ….Actions to try to rectify this:
- Keep using small plates for lunch
- Eat tofu 🙄 as above 😉
- Try mixing cottage cheese and an egg and cooking in air fryer - this sounds quite promising to me with some finely chopped shallot
- Try debtfreewannabe’s bean burger recipe that includes sala as that looks less dry than the typical
options.
Onwards ….! 😊
