Well I've just started MAKING my christmas cards for next year :D BUT that is only because I didn't make ANY for 2007! I had all my craft equipment out fully intending to make a personalised hand crafted card for EVERYONE last year and I spent SO LONG making a christmas scrapbook for the MIL (My first one -ah!) the card idea went out the window - I ended up buying some cheap cards at the last minute paying sale prices on the 22nd Dec and hoping that they arrived on time! (I haven't dared ask anybody :o if they received them before christmas but the relatives are probably all talking about me behind my back - I'll show 'em NEXT YEAR!!:rotfl: )
I don't want to make money, I just want to be wonderful

  • I have started and bought giftsets for family members that i feel obliged to buy for . Never see them throughout the year but have to buy them something, Got 3 sets from Boots for them and 3 Lynx sets for the partners. They are wrapped up and sitting in a box in the loft.

A kind MSE'r gave me a spreadsheet that i have found invaluable and don't mind sending to anyone who wants a copy. Its Excel but very easy to use. Keeps count of all the prices/gifts/people and even has a birthday calender thingy!

    Happy shopping!

Hiya Sugarhunny1 I'm glad to see the spreadsheet was useful to you and its gone back into circulation (I feel famous). It proved invaluable to me and I'm glad I did it as it helped me keep track enormously unlike other years.

What else others might find useful with it that I did to mine was in the page (unless you've tweaked it) named "purchases" where I listed everything and I mean everything I've bought with a running total, as I use / allocate them I change the colour of the text to red so I know it has been used for someone. This helps to keep track of things before posting it onto the relevant page of the person birthday / christmas present list and also helps me see if there is anything left over for those often emergency gifts or even school / church fetes.

    Hope this helps.

Oh and for those of you who have it and want to do a new one for this year, just click on "file and save as", then save the file as say "Presents 2008" rather than the original file name if this makes it easier to keep track although I've just got mine as a running total and just scroll up and down so I can see at a glance what I've got from folks / got folks the year before.

Like Sugarhunni1, please feel free to PM me for a copy and remember your email address as we can't send it to the mail boxes here as they don't take attachments.

All my family are abroad and I never go to the for Christmas. Nothing bad between us, it's just a long story. So I only have a few friends over here to buy presents for and we tend to just buy token presents for one another and never go overboard, which means my Christmas expenditure is really small.

Anyway, I have about one hundred Christmas cards, all bought over the years in various sales. So my cards are sorted for 2008 and beyond. :D

Thank you so much cheekyweegit! I have found the spreadsheet very very useful and its helped me be a lot more organised at the most important time of year (according to my kids). Previous years has found me on xmas eve looking frantic because one child has more than the other. NOT THIS YEAR!!! I had everything sorted and went out in December and bought the remaining few presents i needed.

Really hope you haven't minded me passing it on to others on MSE (didn't think you would) and hope you have a fab 2008!

P.S. please thank cheekyweegit rather than me for the spreadsheet, she is the brains that made the spreadsheet!!!!

Oh, think i'll try changing the font to red! Not done that yet

I've just bought a few small things in the ASOS sale - many of the beauty items are £1 each. I couldn't find a delivery code but there must be one out there....
