Just want to say a massive thanks to sugarhunny for the spreadsheet, have pmed you but wanted to be sure you got my thanks (if you know what I mean), it's brilliant, I would never have made one up in such detail, it will really help me keep track of everything I get.

On another note, have just received an email from Argos telling me my Bratz sofa bed (marked down half price to 14.98) that I ordered is now in store for collection. Is my main present for my 9 yo birthday in August, also going to give her a movie night hamper/large painted shoe box (in Bratz colours of course:D ) and have some hello kitty jewellery w bag for her other two presents. If I get her pjs from Primark and her dvds from vouchers from Pigsback, I estimate that counting EVERYTHING up, I will have spent the grand total of €70 on her (instead of the 150 - 200 before MSE). Am I slowly being cured of my spendthrift ways?

Forgot as well, have ordered two 'fresh breath testers' from Argos (5 each) for two teenage 'night out' birthday hampers.

Have just come back from going to pick up the sofa, it's back to the drawing board for me!!!! It was just sooooo small, it wouldn't have been any way suitable, it's perfect for a 3 year old tho. Dont know quite what I was expecting for £15 but worth a try anyway.

  • After tidying up I realise I still have one small (free) with rimmel makeup set and a £10 comet voucher. So that's a start towards the years birthdays. I can't decide whether to look in comet to see if there is anything good in the sale or leave it as a voucher present. I have also finally made enough piggypoints for a £10 boots voucher, when they are in stock. My onepoll account is up to £16.50 too so hopefully will be up to the £40 to withdraw in time for next christmas.

Well, considering I said I wasn't buying too far in advance this year, since I last posted, I've shopped quite a bit and filled the top of the wardrobe again :o

    I've got;
Annuals covering 5 birthdays (all generations) from the Waterstones 99p sale,
A load of toiletries/make-up for about a quarter of the rrp from Argos for a teenagers birthday (thanks for that Posting - only ever think to look at toys in Argos, so your post prompted me to look at the other sections),
One of the Rough Guides flask sets from Argos for hubby, again at about 75% off (for Fathers Day - he's a fisherman so this will go great with a voucher from the local tackle shop),
A couple of alcohol sets and a Homer sweet tin half price from Tesco (birthdays and Christmas),
Some planter/bulb-in-ceramic sets reduced in the Co-op (will plant them up and give them ready grown for mother's day and grandma's birthday)
And some stocking filler toys at half price, and a couple of cheap DVDs, in Sainsburys.

So much for not spending right now, lol

I've already saved £50 Boots vouchers for next year - stoozed from a credit card. I also popped into our local Next clearance and got 2 x chocolate bath stuff - £4.99 to a £1, 2 x small gift set £3.99 to a £1 and 2 x bath sets £9.99 to a £1.

That's the nieces sorted for Christmas 2008.

Baskets I've got arent big enough but woolworths have got canvas toy box £3 -might get one of those to put his stuff in.

2 plastic boxes from woolworths for 'retro sweet boxes' for older grandkids.
    Christmasmug.........50p,
Lilac strapped watch with lilac flowers on the face 95p sue ryder.......and its working ! -teenage grandaughter I think.

    Thats about it for now

Oh.............and woolworths also had a wooden trough (window sill type) with herbs -£3.............might do for sons birthday in april...........think the herbs are seeds to be planted. Have to have another look when I go again on Wednesday.

i have bought a few more bits today, so i now have 5 presents ready for next christmas. i have bought a few gift sets (toiltetries) and a couple of kids bedside lamps, i try to get the extended family and friends sorted when i see sales and offers fairly early on and am able to concerntate on parents and brother nearer the time it spreads the cost out to. i am expecting to have surgery later this year and will be out of circulation for a few months following this so i am trying to get really organised early on this year.
