well today is my 'usual' day to go bargain hunting for next year and ram it into my cupboards to grab a bit of dust before they come out next xmas :rotfl: Well not this year. I have already had 2 complaints from the same person and another complaint of another
Whats the point is what i say. So... for once my cupboard will stay empty all year around and hopefully up untill this time next year :j *except 1/2 a box that is left over* Next year they will get one handmade gift one handmade toiletrie and money/voucher made from daily clicks and or cash back.
so... have you started bargain shoping yet? what have you found? got most of your presents for 08 sorted/decided? have you spent all of 'your' money/voucher gifts this year on presents for next year? Any fab bargains please share.
Remember only 363 days till xmas

what did they complain about?
I started my stuff for Easter Baskets before Xmas and have bougth more things in the sale for them. The only thing I have bought for next Christmas is cards.
I bought well in advance for this year but alot of the things I bought were cheaper a few days before Xmas. Next year I am giving all money or vouchers as I dont intend to be in the UK for Xmas. Even my Card list will be drastically reduced this year. Has anyone else noticed more and more people not sending cards this year?0 -
De-cluttered some storage boxes and found a few things that might do for a gift basket/box. Not had the chance to go 'bargain hunting' yet. As for Christmas cards, well instead of sending less I find I send more...........since I joined a card making group I got quite addicted to it and almost couldn't stop myself...................lolMary

One complained she had the book  the same person complained they had seen the dvds and the other the tops were too small. But me being mse they were brought throughout the year so i cant swap them. So the t shirts i will give to my mums oh. The book she can keep and i will get another (well she has asked for one i have so i will give her that instead) And the dvds i will have back and ebay (if they havent been opened) but i will have to give her £10 for a new one but the set of three only cost me £6 .
Awww easter baskets sounds cute... we have no children in our family so just an egg for my family but then i only give an egg to my brother now so he gets a thortans one
ok not mse i know :rotfl:
Ohhh yes i agree with the cards. I didnt get one off of many in my family however i got loads from people online. I am quite fortunate as i make handmade cards so i have a pile ready to use that i just remove from my website if needs must. I was in asda today though and there cards were being reduced to about 7p... they had boxes :rotfl:0 -
I have bought a few gifts from M&S in the sale today ,either for bday or xmas pressies in 2008
i just tend to pick up things as i see them, and not really decide who they are for lol
i am going to try and be more organised in 2008 and make sweetie boxes / small hampers etc
also going to buy some charity gifts for the people who have everything !0 -
Hi Pap
Christmas has been really painless this year for me
. I had everything bought/made wrapped, shopping done and meals cooked well before I went into hospital for my hysterectomy at the end of November. Bought stuff throughout the year in sales, etc or used my piggy points for vouchers to get stuff for hampers etc.
All of this has meant that i could spend the whole of Decembers shopping budget etc on whatever i pleased:D as everything was bought.
Have now used some of this free cash to order stuff from the boots sale for next years birthdays etc and have picked up gifts today 75% off at asda:D and other bits at superdrug.
Being a little more selective though and only buying stuff that is relevant to my basket themes, although it was hard leaving other bargains on the shelf instead of picking them up just in case:eek:
Not spent any of my xmas cash or vouchers on pressies though they are for me:rolleyes:
i have joined the 2008 money neutral challenge for next years gifts so hope to get everything sorted without spending a fortune next year too.
Have to say that getting organised so early this year made xmas very stress free and could just sit back and enjoy everything without the usual hassle.:j0 -
i dont think I would have the nerve to complain. neither would I want to upset the giver. I think I would smile, thank them & just ebay them myself when the holidays are over.
Still, my way could be deemed as the chickens way out!0 -
I am the same something i got i wasnt happy with but i will either use them (smellies) or ebay some stuff (candles ~ i dont do candles) but i wouldnt say anything and i would still send a thankyou card

That's what I'd have done or just taken back to a shop that sells the dvds, and just said they were a present and I didn't have the receipt. Sometimes they'll exchange without a receipt. I wouldn't want to upset the giver. It's not the chickens way out...it's being thoughtful.

I have lots left in my present cupboard but will 'top it up' in the 75% and 90% off at Boots sales.0
