Cheery - I love that I'm not the only one who had an old bottle of that Avon stuff! Mine was over 20 years old! In fact the Scottish Aunty who gifted it to me has been dead and buried for at least 10 of those years which is probably why I hung on to it! I can vouch for the fact that when it is a fresh bottle it really does keep the mozzies away and it is not as poisonous as Deet!

Our kerbside glass collection stopped about 15 years ago and the glass used to build up until it became a big job. Currently I attend a weekly group which is next to a glass recycling point so it take the glass weekly, I will need to find somewhere else to recycle them over the summer as the group has a break for June, July and August. Since I started recycling our glass weekly other members of the group now do the same. Little and often has made it manageable and easily incorporated into my week.

I like the idea of a little and often approach to sorting the garage.

We are using a similar approach to sorting the loft, in our case it is little and occasionally due to me needing to be available and it be convenient for the person whose room the loft hatch is in.

โ€ฆthe version I had was the dry spray on oil - honestly I can't remember how much it cost in dollars! โ€ฆand no I didn't use it, only kept it for sentimental reasons as it was a gift, it must have gone off ages ago as it smelled a bit strange and i eventually decluttered it! I've had several bottles bought here in the UK and used - it's that particular scent that works I beleive - and I think it's the dry oil we used to get recommoneded for mosquito season back in the homeland!

I have a feeling that next year more councils will have to accept glass as there's some kind of unified system coming into force in England. My local council is changing our bin types this year ready for the changes and it's got lots of people up in arms (mostly because people with small gardens don't want big bins, which I understand but I absolutely hate the plastic bag situation we have at the moment).
