Hey Cheery,

I do find them helpful, yes. I should say I've been several times over the years, always lost weight, sometimes stalled before I got to target and stopped going. It's like anything - it doesn't work if you don't do it 😂
This time, I went for 12 weeks before Christmas and was the same weight at the end as the start 😬 I was complaining, and the woman who does the scales said "you don't want it enough". I had a good long look at myself over Christmas, decided she was right, I was behaving like someone who didn't want it. I went back after Christmas, paid for another 12 weeks upfront and so far have lost 11lbs.
For some reason, that little phrase worked on me, and now whenever I'm tempted to stuff my face, I hear her saying "you don't want it enough". Of course it doesn't always stop me 😂 but it helps me to make better choices most of the time 😊
I also promised myself I'd stay to weigh ins, and participate in the group, so it became something that was kind of a part of me. So I make sure I chat to people in the queue, talk to the people next to me, ask questions if people mention something interesting, chip in if they ask who's made some nice food that week. That's not something I've done before, I've always tended to sit quietly at the back, but it's really helping.
Good luck with whatever you try! I'm not a complete evangelist for SW, I know people complain about various things about it, but I find for me it helps to not have to weigh the things I'd normally make a healthy meal from (veg, pulses, pasta etc) - that makes a healthy, home cooked meal my go-to. I know people say there's no portion control, but I don't think many of us are overweight from eating too much plain pasta and veg and chick peas... and unfortunately cheese etc isn't unlimited 😂
Anyway, I was popping in to report another drawer... 😬

Happy to read you're still decluttering, cheery! I thought of you the other day, I was at a cleaning job and cleaning out a kitchen cupboard, there was a lot of out of date stuff, some very expensive health foods. I'm putting the out of date stuff in a bin liner (lady customer watching me and tutting at herself for not using all this stuff) when she sees her husband at the front door, she then panicked and said to me 'quick get it outside, he can't see we've not used this stuff!' 🤣 I then had to run out the back door of the kitchen with this bin liner and chuck it in the dustbin and run back in, grab a cloth and start wiping the worktops like nothing had happened! 🤣 it made me laugh so much after and made me wonder if you had to be covert with your decluttering 🤣 (this couple are in their 80s which seemed to make it all the more funny!)
I've been mortgage free once, so let's do it again!
