In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!3 -
Tee hee you lot 🤭😂😂
Mild chaos here, Mr C Snr is insisting on going home next week, whether his house is ready or not. Technically can't stop him, so while we were intending on going over for 3 days anyway, Mr C will now be staying for most of the week on DIY duty. Not ideal but there we are.5 -
Knobs aside, so sorry for all the extra stress you and Mr C are going through.

I don't blame Mr C Snr for wanting to come out. I think being in hospital seems to be worse for women than for men but my mother went in, still unning her house & her finances & came out 2 weeks later unable to remember how to make a cup of tea. No stroke or similar to cause it, although I have always thought dehydration played a part.6

He's in a care home at the minute, not hospital. They're looking after him well but it's very much not the same as being at home of course!
Anyway, we are making plans... which involve a stupid amount of car-swapping, key juggling, and nobody getting enough sleep, but hey ho. Some lovely pals are letting us use their house that they're not currently using so that'll save us a hotel bill at least, and mean we can cook.

If he is in the 6 week care home thing then they will be working to getting him home which is good. They used to have to log how much was drunk so the dehydration thing should not happen there.4

Morning MSE chums, I lost a whole post last night, grrr!
Things are progressing here, some good, some less good.
Got the car back and the heater worked! For five minutes 🙄 by which point the garage was shut, and I was heading for the motorway 🙄 there's a different light flashing now so I suspect they've just messed up the wiring to the dashboard 🙄 forgot to ring them yesterday so it'llhave to wait to Monday now.
Got a wall plastered at Mr C Snr's house yesterday. Quite a miracle considering the amount of family squabbling/other work/being cross at roofers that was going on around me 🙄
Nice evening with Mr C Snr. He took us for dinner at the pub, and I showed him some photos of his house. He's desperate to get back and can't believe that it was that bad and what's taking us so long 🙄 I think photos helped. Also set him up with a temporary sky sports membership so he can watch the rugby, hopefully will go some way to helping with cabin fever.
Not much else to report I don't think. Need to be back by 9 today to let the roofers have access to the extension cable. They seem to be of the 'oh, look, we just found another problem, you'll need a whole new roof' variety 🙄 read the room people! This is not the sort of enterprise where anyone is going to pay for a whole new roof, needed or not. Patch it like we asked you to then go away. 🙄 so that's going to be fun this morning.
Our own plumber has been and sorted out the knob issue with the boiler. No idea how much that cost as he left the invoice on our kitchen table. Hopefully not much!
Right, best get on. Laying the laminate flooring today!9
