Evening all, and thank you @beanielou @rtandon27 @Brewerspride @themadvix for checking up on me 😊
We did indeed make it through the mad week intact, although I have slept in 6 different beds in the last 9 days 😱 not done that for a while 😉😂 Very tired, and in need of a week off.
Some updates...
* big car had its spring fixed (£162) but we're just waiting for the electrical engineer to get back off holidays to check the wiring for the blower.
* Mr Cheery Snr's house has dried out nicely with 3 dehumidifiers (it's a small house). Mr Cheery and his pal have boarded the two ceilings. Awaiting a trader for a job we can't do. Mr C will go over this week while I'm at work, and then we'll both go over the weekend after next to sort what's left. Definitely still need to board the kitchen wall, fit some kind of work surface, and paint the floors, probably other things too. Oh, and sort out various bits of furniture. Mr C Snr is doing ok.
* Mr C returned the industrial dehumidifier, and the remainder of the deposit (over £600!!) has thankfully been returned to our account. Cost £171 for the week, well worth it though.
* I remembered I'd not let the LPG people know we wanted them to renew the pipework. They'll need to inspect it and do the actual pipes anyway, so we've taken their offer of doing the groundwork too rather than trying to find someone else. About £900 all in, including VAT.
* still not done car or house insurance comparisons. Need to get on the case this week. I think they're both on auto renew, and I know last year the car insurance took the money 10 days in advance, cheeky blighters 😡
* Nice letter in the post - when they calculated Mr C's works pension 5 years back, it seems they slightly miscalculated, and they're sending him an additional one-off payment of almost £700! A 'bank error in your favour' card, for once 😂😂 Won't hold my breath til it arrives at the end of Feb, but it'll go some way towards everything that's going out at the min.
* seems I'm also to get a slight payrise in the next couple of months, nothing major but it all helps. Will calculate when I know more.
Anything else?? Who knows, it can wait. This week will hopefully be marginally less busy:
Monday - in the office
Tuesday - working at home, Mr C in town
Wed - in the office, might stay over with a friend
Thurs - in the office (3 days a week is getting annoyingly regular at the minute(
Friday- OFF! going to have the day to myself. Not decided if I'll hang out at home or go to an English Heritage place 😊
Saturday - Christmas visit to my mum
Sunday & Monday - replacement weekend.
Hoping by the end of this week we'll feel a little more settled (and a little more tidy - things are strewn everywhere at the minute, including across both cars). Mr C informs me the place will be like a show home by the time I get home from work tomorrow 😂8 -
Oh, and our boiler has been playing up 🙄 won't bore you with the details, But having done some investigating I suspect it can be fixed by a replacement knob on the front. I have ordered a pack of 3 which will be here in the next couple of days. Hoping that will fix it and we don't have to call the plumber. Fingers crossed!8

Well MSE chums, not much to report today. Agent Million didn't ring 😡 A few little MSE or cheerful things though.
* in the office today, took breakfast and lunch (although I did buy a snack later)
* found a free parking space! Like gold dust!!
* opened all the post that had accumulated during last week's busyness - I'd opened anything unusual, but now all bank statements and junk are dealt with too. Filled in a parish survey and that's ready to post back.
* managed to snag a free cuppa from the Octopods, I keep forgetting at the start of the week so it's been a few of weeks since we've had one.
* booked a swim session for Friday morning
* booked a day at the co-working space with my sister who's coming over for a study day 😃
* geared up to booking a race with a friend, not run for ages but can take this one nice and steady (and it's not for several months)
* progress on Mr C Snr's house (no thanks to me, but it's still progress) - boiler is fixed, and we have a builder to sort the roof, which should prevent further damage. Mr C has bought various items of clothing and bits today.
* washing is on now in what I assume is a cheap electric period - I confess I didn't actually bother to check 🙈
That'll do for now. Working at home tomorrow so I can do the radiator dance with the washing (unless of course the sun is shining!)
Right, nightie and bed for me!7 -

I strongly suspect he'll start with "what have you got rid of xx for? Where's my yy??" 😂 As I probably would if someone threw out the majority of my possessions while I was in hospital 😬 hopefully he will come to approve, but he never will have seen the worst of it, so...6
