KK
Busy week here, apologies for my somewhat erratic posting at the minute. Mr C has had 3 days at his dad's and has made more progress. I am run ragged at work this month with an entirely ridiculous convergence of circumstances, can't be helped but I will be very glad when February is over 🙄 stayed over at a colleague's house on Wednesday and after tea we just sat one on each sofa and worked for another 3 hours 🙄 Mr C was away on Thursday and I did exactly the same at home on my own. Not good!
Still, I haven't worked at all over the weekend though. Friday i was off, went swimming, it for breakfast, then spend a few hours jazzing around, then did some batch cooking, mostly for my sister but I did pinch a few portions for my own freezer.
Fri evening I drove to my sister's and stayed over.
Saturday we did her local parkrun (very slowly), then my mum came round and we finally exchanged Christmas presents.
I enjoyed the parkrun so much that I got up and went out for 4 miles this morning in the fog, largely walking but it was so bloody freezing that I did break into a downhill jog occasionally trying to warm up.
Enjoyed both so much that I signed up for a second race (and realise I may not have mentioned the first one in here 😂). Anyway, a friend and I are doing two races, 10 miles one day, 15 the next, at the end of June 🙄😂
Needless to say, after my excursions this morning today has been very quiet 😂7 -
Loving that you are enjoying the running so much. You sound like your old self again 😊
The work sounds like a hard slog but also that you are not alone in it. I hope you can keep some kind of balance as there’s still a lot of February to go …
Have a you a sense of when the works at Mr C’s senior will be complete?KKAs at 15.07.25:

Can totally relate to the February running ragged feeling! I'm part of a work culture that pushes for everything to completed before year end in March, but approvals and funding don't arrive on big projects until we are about to go on our Christmas/January breaks, so teams can't do anything until February/March!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! (24 OCT 2016)(With heartfelt thanks to those who have gone before us & their indubitable generosity.)...and now I have a mortgage! (23 AUG 2021)New projection - 14 YEARS 10 MONTHS LEFT OF 20 YEARS (reduced by 15 mths)Psst...I may have started a diary!3

We are getting there with Mr C Snr's house. There's another skip coming this weekend, I'll be plastering the kitchen, and we'll be sanding/painting floors downstairs (rather than putting laminate down again). Builders have been fixing a bit of flat roof this week. Plumber has disappeared 🙄 but that's to fix something that's been ongoing for many years anyway. Then I *think* we'll be in a position that he could come home again, subject to various professional assessments (but they'll be assessing him and what support he needs, rather than saying his house is too soggy).
Might be a bit of painting left, but we can do that when he's home.rtandon27 said:Can totally relate to the February running ragged feeling! Keep plodding indeed @beanielou Tis all we can do sometimes, isn't it?6 -
Right MSE pals, I have just finished work (I did have a bit of a break earlier, but it's still too late). Mr C is out, I have the rest of the evening to myself and I do NOT want to waste it!
(Nor do I want to spend ALL of it doing household tasks...).
So... an overambitious plan, as usual 😁
8-8.30 EXERCISE
* a gentle ish video, bit of bending and stretching and dancing
8.30-9.00 HOUSE
* finish washing up
* hoover downstairs
* maybe get some washing on
9.00-9.30 ADMIN
* car insurance quote 🙄 I suspect the old ones will have taken the money out already, which is VERY cheeky considering the policy doesn't start til next week
* upload photos onto laptop
* either YNAB or blog post - erring towards a blog post, it's less brain power and I've not done one for ages
9.30-10 MUSIC
* bit of flute practice - some tricky bits and maybe a bit of nice melodious things to end with 😊
Then I will be getting on the sofa with a hot water bottle and probably yesterday's Call the Midwife 😊😊4 -
Sounds like a nice relaxing plan Cheery! Recharge those batteries!
My manager arrived on line 5 mins before I planned to log off, so I told her the heating pad was already warming and the popcorn ready to go into the microwave. 😉4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! That's as far as I've got, and I just can't be bothered with any more. The rest will have to wait. Sofa and TV it is! 😁8
