I have smart meters installed by British Gas in 2015 the electric meters works with Octopus but the gas doesn't. If you want dumb mode then just put the IHD in a draw and read the meters yourself and send the supplier monthly readings. If it cannot be done on their website then email them every month with your name, address, meter numbers and readings.Someone please tell me what money is0

Putting the IHD into a drawer does not turn the meter itself into dumb mode. It will still be sending readings whether you are looking at the display or not.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.4 -

Does anyone know of any supplier I could move to that would enable me to have the Smart meter put into Dumb Mode? I have emailed EON and OVO.1

I’ve got smart meters and still monitor my own readings as I always did - electricity weekly, gas monthly. The difference is that I now get accurate bills for whole months, rather than would have happened before, bills only being accurate so long as I was in a position to give a reading on the correct day each month. Best of both worlds as far as I am concerned - I can still keep track of my use but also have more in-depth information to drill down into if I want or need to, while the actual work of the readings being given is dealt with for me.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Unfortunately, as a supplier do not accompany the "dumb mode" with our smart meters.
We're required by our energy license to take all reasonable steps to ensure that any replacement energy meter is a smart meter. Under this government programme and per OFGEM regulations, we must aim to install smart metering equipment in every home in Great Britain - including electricity & gas meters, an in-home display, and a communications hub.Smart meters also help with balancing the grid, which reduces the need for 'dirty' energy from fossil fuels, and helps with preparing renewable energy for peak periods with higher consumption.
We can offer to address any concerns they may have about smart meters. The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) published a study in the peer-reviewed journal of Bioelectromagnetics - Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3.
The results confirm UKHSA's existing advice that exposure to radio waves from smart meters is well below the guidelines set by the International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP). The study also concluded that exposure to the radio waves produced by smart meters is likely to be much lower than that from other everyday devices such as mobile phones and wifi equipment, so if they're concerned about smart meters, they could have this same concern for WiFi routers and extenders.
If this is still not acceptable to you then unfortunately we are out of options, as a supplier we do not offer the "dumb mode" for smart meters. Although we may not support this, there may be other suppliers that may have this offer.
