Can I ask for the reasoning behind this? I was driving the car and had taken my toddler to the park and he was sick everywhere. Do I not include this info?
    Trust the process.

By naming the driver PoFA 2012 no longer applies. So you don't name who it was. You don't need to include any of the further details, they come later.
But I'm not sure how much of this pre-written appeal applies to me? They've given an explanation of the allegation? That I entered at 2.49pm (ticket actully started 2.54pm) but I didn't leave until 4.07pm, my ticket ran out 3.54pm.
I was even maybe back at the car in time, but just didn't leave the carpark within the hour. So they've explained why?

I also thought that this appeal is where I give all the details possible (as I read on MSE), and then they decide whether to waive it or not?
Why would I therefore give more details at a later date?
But wait a minute... you are not listening.

Phrases like "I entered" and "I didn't leave", etc. all tell the world who was driving.

You will have by now understood that a vehicle's keeper has more protection than it's driver.

Where did you read "that this appeal is where I give all the details possible (as I read on MSE)"?

Just send the template appeal to get the POPLA code.

I read this somewhere, though now Im wondering if it was on citizens advice.  On MSE it says 'You'll need to outline why you believe the parking ticket was unfair. It could be because there was missing or unclear signage. '
So I thought I'd need to explain why I thought it was unfair - I had to deal with this projectile vomit situation.

  • Just send the template appeal to get the POPLA code.
OK, although my PCN does state that if I appeal through POPLA, I won't have the chance to pay the discounted charge of £60.
So is it likely my 1st appeal will get rejected using this template?
And then when i appeal to popla, is that when I add in the details of the cleaning up sick situation I had?

Almost certainly your appeal to the parking company will be rejected. They make no money by accepting appeals.

You then go on to win this at PoPLA but not using your mitigating circumstances.

How would I win it at popla without giving any details of my mitigating circumstances..??

(Surely if someone saw I was just 13mins late and had a tonne of vomit to clean up and a toddler to comfort and change, if they had a heart they'd waive it...  )

By following the guidance offered in the third post of the NEWBIES thread.

And of course, yes, you are right... if they had a heart they'd waive it.
The have no heart. All they see is money. They are not going to give up the opportunity to help themselves to your hard earned.
Sorry, it's harsh. But the reality is they want your money. You will need to fight them. Send off you initial appeal and then look at that NEWBIES post I mentioned.

What KeithP says above is right. Popla will also not be interested in your child's vomiting episode, mitigating circumstances are not within Popla's appeal remit. Follow the advice given here. You may not be fully understanding it just now but it will soon all slot into place the more you read.

Have a look at POPLA DECISIONS Announcement (above the Newbies thread) may help you see what they consider. POPLA Trustpilot reviews may convince you follow advice provided by these very knowledgeable posters.

    As said previously.

    Trust. The. Process.

The guys here have helped 100s if not 1000s of people, 99% of whom go on to pay nothing. Your case is no different, regardless of any mitigating circumstances.

Follow the guidance, trust the guidance. You might not fully understand why you say what and when, I get that, but they are here to help you, if you chose not to listen (by providing details, naming the driver etc) you will end up paying the charge.

    It's up to you.
