No need to wait for the physical Chase card, as it doesn't show the card number anyway! All the details you need to switch are visible in the appPonchos said:
Thanks for the clarification on this. When I couldn't find the "open extra account" type option on TSB or FD I assumed it would mean applying from scratch all over again, multiple times. And that many hard searches can't be good. I have now opened a Chase account and once I've got my card and whatnot I'll make three burner accounts to use, as it seems from this thread that is an easy and effective way of doing it, plus Chase's own site says that opening extra accounts doesn't go down as a hard search.Bridlington1 said:
TSB allow you to open multiple accounts, you have to apply as you would if you are a new customer though, which will create a new online banking profile. Some ``IT wizardry" at their end then merges your profiles within 7 working days or however long it is so you have both accounts showing in both profiles (at least that's how it's meant to work in theory). Note opening a new current account with TSB will result in a hard search even as an existing customer.Ponchos said:I remember Barclays having a feature in app to open a second account (or presuambly as many as you wanted), and when I used this I had a new account opened in about 30 seconds. It seems TSB and First Direct (and I imagine other banks) don't have this feature (if they do then please point me in the right direction) so I'm thinking that Chase may be the way to go as it seems they do have this simple option of opening another account without going through the whole application process over and over again.
Just to confirm that this is actually the case, that multiple account can be opened quickly rather than needing to apply the long way? Also that these extra accounts after the fist don't require you to wait for a debit card and online banking details, they essentially feed of the first account? Thanks.1 -
Always go to the primary source (ie. NatWest) - don't rely on the paraphrasing from MSE. I've had my Reward accounts for years and never missed the £1250 monthly pay in so I don't know what happens if you miss it, but I'd assume you just get charged the fee and won't qualify for the rewards.overspender22 said:Does the reward account have a minimum pay in requirement each month? Or just the £2 fee? The MSE page and the NatWest page seem to contradict one another.
If you're worried about the fee or monthly pay in, then apply for a fee-free Select account.

Quick question for those that have applied for and now have an Ulster account...how long did it take to get your account details and how did you get them? (post/email/text?)
I applied a week ago, passed the Huyoo stuff a few days later and got a text today saying my new PIN i requested is enroute.
All very well and good but i still haven't had any correspondence to let me know my account details or customer number or any actual 'formal acceptance'.
is this normal?

They were very slow when I applied last year compared to NatWest/RBS. It took a good few weeks for Ulster to be fully opened.GibbonUK said:Quick question for those that have applied for and now have an Ulster account...how long did it take to get your account details and how did you get them? The next best option is actually Barclays, particularly within the app - if you already have an account. You can open another current account within a couple of minutes, and then immediately view the debit card details tooinfo_maniac said:Apart from the Chase "additional" accounts, the next best option is to open additional accounts with Lloyds or Halifax if you are an existing customer, an additional account can be opened in 3-5 minutes, the only problem is that you have to wait for the debit card to arrive in post. The "view card" option in the app doesn't work for newly opened accounts and by the time it starts working, the debit card arrives in the post.
If useful to note - you are restricted to opening 2 new accounts within the app within 30 days.1 -
Simple enough if you have sufficient take home pay (obviously can be done in batches also) - get paid into NatWest main account, bump £1250 to RBS, bounce back same day minus money for DD, away you gooverspender22 said:Does the reward account have a minimum pay in requirement each month? People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

I’m wondering if Chase will eventually stop people from opening extra accounts easily if they are being switched out or if it doesn’t cost them anything as they send no correspondence or cards out. It’ll show as more accounts until they are switched out I guess.0

Update on my RBS, account all active and can login to the app now, nothing more from RBS regarding the switch but Chase have helpfully sent a text and on my Chase app I can see 'Account closing in 7 days moving to RBS' for the account I chose to switch
So with no option of a switch date presented during RBS application they just seem to have decided 'as soon as possible' basically0 -
Update: All 6 £200 bonuses have now been paid.ScottHart said:Out of interest, does anyone know what time of day Ulster usually pays the bonus?
Incidentally I'm going for, and succeeding so far with the "double triple" (NatWest, RBS and, Ulster for myself and my wife).
So far we've got 2 x £200 from NatWest, 1 x £200 from RBS with the remaining being paid in the next day or so. Switches (all 6 were Chase burner accounts) completed last week, all accounts had £1250 in them for 25(ish) hours and we've used the app for each account.4 -
I might be wrong but I don’t think FD allow another account. Would certainly be a hard search with them too if they didPonchos said:
