Hi, well i was a first time switcher, went for the Natwest and Lloyds, got both of them, so went for the double with RBS and got that too...so going for the triple. Just had notification that my switch has started, but says National westminster/ Ulser, lets hope i still get the bonus. They were nice easy ones as no DD required. Now im thinking of doing the Santandar, leaving the HSBC one seams a bit of a faff as i dont really use a debit card.
Do you guys just close the accounts after you get the bonus? im keeping the LLoyds for the saving account and potentially the Natwest for the reg saver but dont really need RBS and Ulster too

I know updating passport is the obvious next thing, but for a more speedy approach, would it be worth speaking to Natwest about sending the marriage certificate?
Apply in maiden name, get name changed after by presenting marriage certificate in branch. Then switch.superdayold said:WillPS said:superdayold said:I convinced my friend to try a switch, but her passport isnt up to date (previous name) after getting married, so was rejected. Don't switch during application. Obtain account in maiden name, then once set up, change name in branch. Then switch. This would work if her old account is also in her previous name. So old CA, New CA and passport all match. But would it work if she has her new name on the old account?

Ulster I’ll keep for the easy access saver as the rate seems pretty good.0 -
ah yes good plan, Ill use the RBS as thats already completed, and then i still have a spare for something else

It's taken over a month, but I'm finally progressing with Ulster
Bit of a mess really.
Initial application online, got a letter a week later requesting copies of ID. Got in touch as I hadn't been given an option to provide online documents, was told I needed to provide hardcopy certified documents. Got them certified in my local NatWest branch, sent them off, got a message a week later asking to get in touch, and was told I needed to send in my documents again (certified again!). Wasn't impressed, but got it sorted at my branch again. 2 weeks later I'm finally getting emails saying the switch has started, got my customer reference number email this morning, but still nothing to actually confirm my account is open or what the details are! Don't recalling having this much trouble when I open my NatWest or RBS accounts!0 -

So old CA, New CA and passport all match. But would it work if she has her new name on the old account? You need the name to match ID to get the account open, so open account with that name. You need the name to match the old account for the switch to work so change the name after the new account is open. (Unless the old account is still in her maiden name, in which case switch as is, then change the name after if desired.)0 -

Can i ask if people are using different email addresses and mobile numbers for each offer? Was thinking if you used the same one might potentially flag up in their system? or is it ok with the same ones?
The banks can learn much more from your credit history than email addresses and mobile phone numbers would ever reveal.
There most definitely are banks where using a different phone number/email is sufficient to cause a new profile to be created. On the other hand there are some who will happily match you to an ancient profile even after several address changes.
Eventually sorted out though0 -

Will take time to build up as you can only put £150 in each per month though.0
