I'd guess there's a slight delay in a credit history being updated. Whereas i was intending to open Natwest/RBS at the same time. I'll assume its fine as can't see the issue raised elsewhere in the thread.RG2015 said:
Have you ever looked at your credit report?Peteo said:Hi
Can i ask if people are using different email addresses and mobile numbers for each offer? Was thinking if you used the same one might potentially flag up in their system? or is it ok with the same ones?
The banks can learn much more from your credit history than email addresses and mobile phone numbers would ever reveal.0 -
You'll probably run into more issues trying to use different details to simply using the same details for each application, I used the same details for all 3 (NW/RBS/Ulster) and no issues whatsoever
On another note I passed my ID check with Ulster online and got a text today telling me my account was now open and they would be sending a email shortly with further details but no email yet so that'll probably be tomorrow now, they certainly do seem to take their time over everything!1 -
They do take a few days. The email will be your customer number. The email will also mention an activation code, that’ll be a few more days waiting for a text!Johntea said:You'll probably run into more issues trying to use different details to simply using the same details for each application, I used the same details for all 3 (NW/RBS/Ulster) and no issues whatsoever

Have you ever applied for multiple accounts with TSB? They struggle to match you up even with identical details. I've given up trying to get them to merge me now, I think I have 5 separate logins, most of which have no active accounts (Edit: checked my password manager, it's actually 9...).RG2015 said:

There most definitely are banks where using a different phone number/email is sufficient to cause a new profile to be created. On the other hand there are some who will happily match you to an ancient profile even after several address changes.0 -
I convinced my friend to try a switch, but her passport isnt up to date (previous name) after getting married, so was rejected. I know updating passport is the obvious next thing, but for a more speedy approach, would it be worth speaking to Natwest about sending the marriage certificate?

Apply in maiden name, get name changed after by presenting marriage certificate in branch. Then switch.

That sounds good, but I'm not sure if her 'old' account she's switching from is previous or new name - would that matter?WillPS said:superdayold said:I convinced my friend to try a switch, but her passport isnt up to date (previous name) after getting married, so was rejected. And if the account being switched is in the ladies married name?WillPS said:superdayold said:I convinced my friend to try a switch, but her passport isnt up to date (previous name) after getting married, so was rejected. Don't switch during application. Obtain account in maiden name, then once set up, change name in branch. Then switch.
