Ha ha - not a celeb and not birthday - just my daft joke.@flamingo747 I don't remember a time when I didn't believe. For a few years I drifted away from going to church but came back again. Nowadays I go every Sunday and occasionally midweek, especially if it is a significant day, such as today, Ash Wednesday.@pigpen I'm worried about you. Do you know what it is you have? It seems to be dragging on.Just as we were about to go to the GP for A's blood test the phone rang and it was someone trying to arrange the two x-rays the GP had requested yesterday. They said that the health centre we had asked to have the x-rays at no longer did them but we could go to one of several other places. A asked if he could phone back later as we were just going out so didn't have the time to think about it. I took the number down and repeated it back. We didn't have to wait long at the surgery but the person who took the blood sample said they couldn't take the nail sample so we had to make an appointment with the practice nurse to do that. It seems a bit OOT but (a) I'm worried I might cut A's foot taking it and (b) I don't want to take too small a sample or one that in other ways is deficient because evidently it takes a few weeks to culture it so I don't want to find after several weeks the sample was useless and it has to be re-done.When we got home I put some washing on, made lunch and then rang back to make an appointment for the x-ray but the number was unobtainable [sigh]. I rang the GP to see if they had a number but they didn't so they said they would get the GP to re-request the x-rays when he was next in, on Friday. A bit later someone else rang, from the hospital we wanted to go to, and said we could, in fact, go there because they made an exception for elderly people. See, there is something good about getting older! They said we could go tomorrow, so as A has an appointment with the neurologist at a different hospital in the morning he made an appointment for the afternoon.I then washed up and did more eye drops and started on the TDing which is ongoing. I didn't make the 6 o'clock mass either as I was faffing around drafting an email to the clerk of the parish council where I want to bury my friend's ashes. I went to another church instead as they had a 7pm service, getting a cold supper ready for A before I went.I got back about 45 mins ago and had a light supper, gave A more eye drops and am now about to wash up. If you've got this far - well done!8

Hi ladies
Sorry for being so awol. In a nutshell:
- finally trying to sort out finance stuff with ex. I know it should have been done ages ago, but as you all know I barely have a minute to use the loo. Big phone call with mortgage people later this week to ‘prove’ I can afford it on my own - I’ve been paying it on my own for ages now, so if their computer says no I’ll be very upset!- Huge anxiety meltdown last night after horrid, just-like-it-used-to-be, shouting row on the phone. Sooner we get the above stuff sorted the better.
- Sheep destroyed a fence in their bid to go into another bit of the field. They succeeded, I CBA fixing it because it’s still damp/grey/basically the same as it’s been since 1st November. Sheep 1, ASB 0. I hate sheep. Good job they’re tasty.
- DD has made a new friend at school, yay, but came home from her house on Monday REEKING of vape and stale smoke. Both parents do it in the house. She also stank of fried food and had to get straight in the shower and all her uniform went on a hot wash. I think this girl is using DD so need to monitor carefully.
- Work is manic. Nuff said!I have not really flown at all. The mess just comes back tenfold at the moment. Everybody fed nobody dead is just fine for me.
I’ll read the thread properly tomorrow - big love to all xx10 -

Mr Flamingo is also an avid photographer and he'd be devastated. Great idea on the SD cards, will make sure to do this when we go to Munich in October. Can we see any of Mr N's pics? I bet they're lovely, and you must be glad to have him home
I'd had fun hiding little chocolate hearts round the house last night - sellotaped one to Mr N's car keys; put one in his trainer, his gym bag and his go-cup as well as in his cereal bowl and on top of the milk bottle as I knew he'd be up first. I think he found them all.
Went to Body Pump today.
Got a few extras from Mr T.
Nearly finished my report.
Looked at a bit of drum music and listened to the drum part on Moises (that splits songs up so you can just listen to e.g. drums and vocal).
Kept on top of tidying things.
Paid cc bill.
Checked other bank stuff.
Put away some dry clothes.

@Cloth_of_Gold I've noticed that more people go to church here than in my regular Internet social groups, which I always find interesting. Do you go often? Have you always had a strong faith? Please feel free to tell me to mind my own business!
Anyway I mentioned cleaning in this post.

Good evening 😁
Today was busy, but the children were all quite well behaved. It was lovely to play with DGS. I don't get to do it enough in person. He gave me some good cuddles 😊 The sad thing is, he sees more of us (living 3 hours away) than he does of his local family. His other grandad meets DSIL every Saturday morning and they often take DGS out for a walk in the buggy. But they just walk, with a forward facing buggy, and don't get him out to play in the park or anything. He has barely seen his aunty that lives 10 minutes away. It's no wonder DD1 phones me every day!! 😂
Flying wise - WM x1, TD x1, DW on. Lots of uncooked heart shaped pasta picked up/swept up!! But they had great fun playing with it, so I don't mind. LR & DR vac'd up. Lots of toys picked up & put away. Tomorrow, I do it all again!
GWS wishes to poorlies. Hugs to those that need them, esp Asb. You are doing a great job 👏
Night night all. Sleep well!7 -
@Asparklierblonde as Goodintentions says, you are doing a great job, despite all the rubbish that life throws at you. Try shouting mint sauce (or redcurrant jelly) at that naughty sheep.Had a text from my brother. His chest infection, which he had had for several months, has come back and the GP is sending him for an x-ray. My SIL who was diagnosed with bladder cancer last year and had her bladder removed had her 6 monthly scan yesterday and it was ok, so much relief all round. Washed up the supper things, finished the TD'ing, matched-up and put away socks, wrote a birthday card for my nephew, put away various things, put out A's breakfast things and did the pre-sleep eye routine. I can go to bed now. Sleep tight everyone.7

Good morning my lovelies xx
What day is it? Only Thursday? Sigh. It's being a loooooong week. On the plus side everyone at the paid stuff is speaking to me. On the negative side they're not all speaking to each other and I have to be careful in every conversation. Yesterday a colleague opened up to me and poured out lots of stuff. I don't know how much was true, how much a version of the truth, and how much was lies. Mostly I listened. And hopefully she felt better afterwards...and she didn't trigger me so that's a plus too. But I am getting increasingly fed up with the whole toxic situation.
Sorry. Whinge over. You all have far worse things to cope with. And at least I can come home!
I went to bed before 9 last night. Shattered. Alarm woke me up at 7. So I'm up, made my bed, dressed, yada, yada. I'll put out the recycling and feed the birds before I set off. A blue tit has been seen exploring my bird house. That's been the highlight of my week 😊
Take care. Big Round hugs.

morning all
I have been to work to let a worker in (we sell workspace/desks) as he had booked via email. Took his payment, came home, painted 3 cupboard doors. I have had to buy more paint which i did yesterday but was too tired last night to be bothered to paint.
Got a decorator (who is actually the great uncle of DiL as well as a neighbour of the aged Ps) coming to quote this evening for painting and wallpapering hall, stairs and landing as well as painting my new upstairs doors.
Just having my vertical half hour now.
Planning on cleaning kitchen and getting some tasks completed as well as hunting for the elusive padlock and dropped screw.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Morning all.
Well done ASB for tackling the finance stuff with your ex. "Don't accept his first offer, it won't be a fair one" was my solicitor's advice, 25 years ago. My ex grumbled that my "greed" would ruin him and he'd be forced to move house, but it didn't, he didn't, and he's still there and managed to raise another family - he'll soon have 2 more weddings to pay for!
We had a stop/start journey into the big city yesterday evening (it was rush hour) but arrived in good time and found a space in the car park nearest to the theatre, where patrons of this particular theatre get a special evening rate. Carmen was very enjoyable, but the first act was spoilt by a young man, who was carrying two large glasses of something alcoholic, coming in late to join his three mates on our row, and obviously a bit drunk - why on earth did the usherette let him in? Lots of shushing and complaining ensued, with some people nearby moving to empty seats in other rows. Fortunately at the end of the first act he went out the back way with one of his mates, closely followed by Security to make sure that they actually left the building, and the two friends who stayed for the full performance were apologetic and well behaved. We finally got home at 11.30pm, but it was almost 2am before I got off to sleep (because of the coffee I'd drunk at 7pm, I expect).
Anyway, here I am and it's already Thursday. My aspirations for today:
- finance check
- write a food shopping list [started] - K and the picky girls will be eating with us tomorrow, and DS1&Co are coming for a meal on Saturday
- finish one small admin job
- drop off parcels and Jungle return at PO
- WM/TD x2 or 3 (leaving bedding until tomorrow, when K will help me re-make the beds)
- chiropractor at 11.00
- go to MrAl on the way home
- Rosie's walk
- find a few more bits to make up the minimum £10 on a sale of books/CDs/DVDs in order to get an extra 10% and clear a bit more space on the LR shelves
- sort some photos
DH has not yet emerged from his nest. I shall have to go and boot him out. Ah, just mentioning that has done the trick, he's started banging things about in the kitchen
Catch up later - hope you all have a good day xxx
