Doors fitted - they do all the sawing/trimming in their van so not too much mess brought in - and they vacuumed.
Unfortunately I appear to have been visited by the side effect fairy and I have a very unhappy tummy - and when i needed the bathroom it was doorless! Fotunately they were outside at the time so I just mentioned I was in there...
I pegged out washing this morning which has lightened, so now on the maiden finishing off. When I was getting the prop from the shed I dropped the padlock - and, for the life of me I cannot find it...I will try again on a finer day. if it's gone under the shed it will require lying down so that will definitely have to wait. Cupboard doors have had their first coat of silk on the outside. I'm going to run out of paint before this job is completed. The new doors are primed and will need painting.
I have also WUALTD, taken reccyling out and made a casserole for tea - DD had the orthodontist after work so i figured a SC meal means it'll be ready when she gets here. She'll have pancakes for dessert.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Valli.. ask if your doormen will help with the padlock.. I find they are usually very helpful with such stuff.

@ionafan does DH like SW? I need to do something desperately, but I haven't done SW in a long time, and I'm not sure I can manage it with my restrictive eating

Not done much today. Put a wash in that OH put out on the line then it's started raining. Have left it out. I was standing outside for nearly 3 hours in a really cold wind this morning at my volunteer job. Despite my long duvet coat I was very cold. Will wear fleece trousers next week. Took me an age to warm up.Tried out the new iron after the old one went bang last week.Make £2024 in 2024

Hi all
Hideous day at the paid stuff. We are having problems with a big contract that I have been leading on, lots of technical legal stuff to sort out and now I am doubting every single decision that I have made on this. As if that wasn't bad enough I have a million and one other things to deal with. Not good fot the anxiety.
That aside DH has hoovered and I have put some washing on. House is mostly tidy. I was up at 5.45am so I did 50 minutes Pilates before the paid stuff. My dodgy ankle is playing up.
I need to sort out my lunch and make my overnight oats.
Hope the padlock turns up Valli, it reminds me of the time I dropped my car keys as I got out of the car and they somehow bounced right underneath the car which got me some very funny looks.7 -

Hugs to all who need them.
Flying wise, today I've pottered about in kitchen and living room. Cooked breakfast, lunch and dinner from scratch and done my online Mr T order for delivery tomoz. I also put the green bin out (with deconstructed christmas tree and other bits of cut greenery in it).
Optician sent a text saying my new glasses were ready this morning so went and picked them up after lunch. Both pairs are fine...
DD has caught the evil snotty/headachy bug that DGD brought back from her camp trip end of last week and has been floored by it. She called this evening (she has health anxiety) fretting she may have taken too many parrots in 24 hours. I got her to count up how many and it is not as bad as she thinks.. One extra dose in 24 hours is not a problem... She then felt a lot better...
Kids! However old they get (she's 41!) they still need Mum's reassurance now and then... And I'm happy to give it...

Fayolle said:I hope Mr Narc0 got back ok.
So yesterday was pretty much dozing and hearing all the travel tales, and looking at some of Mr N's photos (2000+).
Today I did a gym swim.
Got some good bargains in c00p on the way home.
Getting on well with latest report; no student booked for tomorrow but 2 next week.
Gritted teeth and rang car insurance people. First left details to be rung back as the wait was at least 15mins. They rang back twice but as soon as I picked up, it went to engaged tone then nasty screechy noises. I rang them again, waited 20 mins listening to inane music and even more inane 'we value your custom and are dealing with calls as fast as we can' messages before finally getting through. Quote on renewal: £350; quote on compare the meercat for the same insurance company: £311; quote from the man I spoke to asking him to explain the difference: "oh it is showing we can do it for £299"..........ok I'll take that then. So it was worth it.
I can't remember what else I've done.
Fayolle I think you are meant to keep anything tax related for 6yrs so I tend to be cautious and keep it for 7 or 8, but you could always scan them in so they are only taking up electronic space.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.8
