Fuse Energy, anybody with them?

I agree pleople should do a full market comparison based on their own circumstances, and it is true that a lower lower standing charge does not necessarily mean a lower overall cost (refer to my most recent previous posts in this thread)
I'm not sure which supply region you are in, but looking at the North West supply region (chosen at random) I see:
Fuse Energy August 2026 Fixed (18m) V11
unit rate: 7.571p/kWh
SC: 10.94ppdE.ON Next Next Fixed 24m v65 (they actually have a lightly lower offer exclusive to uSwitch/confused, but we'll ignore that for now)
unit rate: 6.965p/kWh
SC: 29.167ppdSo to benefit from the Eon Next offering, one would need to consume at least about 11000kWh of gas pa, which is above the average
Also, worth noting that the Eon Next tariff is a 2 year fix with a massive £100 per fuel early exit fee. No one knows what prices will be like in 2 years time, but generally you currently see cheaper prices the longer you fix for, suggesting the peak prices are expected to last for only the next 12 months.
The Fuse 18m tariff is cheaper than their 13m tariff.

I use around 15000 so will definitely save. Signed up to the 12 mth Eon fix with £50 per fuel exit fee (but only on change of supplier so £0 if moving internally) - if rates go down I will change tariff. £200 pa below Oct cap but £350 pa above my ending tariff 😥

Yes, you get the full £100 referral credit even if switching just Gas. That is exactly what I did - my Electricity is still with Octopus IOG. I have the £100 account credit in my account pending my first bill

They advertise this as a perk. However they do not honour it if you signed up with a discount e.g. through a comparison web site.

My EON fix is about to end, I made an account with fuse who offered a much cheaper deal of £66 a month but then said they wanted £400 up front!
I am a low user, a homeowner and have lived in the same place for around 16 years, the 400 up front makes me very reluctant to sign up🤔

Also got the £400 request, no clear reason, CS wouldn't resolve, so didn't proceed. Their SC is low and the £100 credit is a bonus, but when added to the £400 would have covered more than a year's billing.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I had considered phoning them and seeing if they would negotiate. I might be prepared to go ahead if they would reduce the upfront amount to 200 or less.
Also did you approach them via a switch offer or by making an account directly? I'm wondering if the upfront requirement might differ according to how you sign up?

Direct. The £400 figure seems standard in posts about this happening.

I never got the offer and went direct, so took a code off that was posted elsewhere, now I have my own

Even less now!
Very nice if you don't actually use any (or hardly any) gas.
Puts the major suppliers who were offering an Ofgem trial Low Standing Charge tariff to shame.
Remember, you can take just gas from Fuse it it suits you.
Although their electricity isn't too shabby either currently if you are a low user looking for a low standing charge tariff.
