S&Sx2, WMx1, Heated airer running, downstairs hard floors swept, WUDUPA
Was out at work with Mr Flamingo for our 21st wedding anniversary today, so not as much cleaning time. Still trying to find a decent car, suspect this will take up all the weekend!Married 40y.o. mum of an autistic 11y.o. Carer/SAHM.

Evening.I'm with piggers on hankies. Mind you, I have to blow my nose 100 times a day so cotton ones wouldn't be practical. A uses cotton ones though.@Asparklierblonde I love the idea of a sheep called Nigel.
I hope that Mary has a little lamb one day.
Sorry about your power going off, and no hot water to boot. What a pain.
This morning a roofer came early (and unexpectedly) and wanted to be let in to the building and also into our bathroom to see where the leak had been coming through (thank goodness I cleaned it thoroughly only a couple of days ago). I wasn't ready to receive visitors
so he had to wait a bit. Once I'd sorted myself out and shown him the problem area in the bathroom I popped to the post office and posted the 2 birthday cards and a parcel with something I was returning. I then drove to the local shops (would have preferred to walk but didn't have the time) and bought a few things and got back about noon.
I had decided that today was the day I would make some serious inroads into the disaster area that is the ROD. Over Christmas lots of things had ended up in there and so I took everything off the floor, apart from things that are under a desk and a table, and either put them away somewhere, threw them away or put them into a recycling bag and then vacuumed. I ended up with three bags of recycling, which I took down to the bins, half a bag of rubbish, and a much tidier looking room. It's only stage one but it's a good start and I felt a real sense of achievement. I've always been a very busy and also a quick person, that just got on with things. Several years of being a FT carer (as well as being older I suppose) have left me feeling very tired, mentally, however and I have struggled with motivation recently so it seemed more of an achievement than it really was. Even so, one small step.... Other than that I've done the usual cooking and washing up etc. and returned a call to my brother.7 -
Pilates done.
Drum lesson done.
Mr T done.
Vacuuming still not done, but I have started writing up yesterday's assessment, started another glove and done more jigsaw.
Made a real mess in the kitchen: I was heating some milk in the microwave for a cheese sauce with my pasta bowl warming on top while I mixed up cornflour and milk in another receptacle. Somehow when I opened the microwave door, the bowl fell off and smashed, knocking the milk and cornflour over. Of course as I still hadn't put everything away from Mr T, there are now milk splashes on a bag of lemons and some tins of beans, not to mention milk running down the front of the unit I wiped 2 days ago and onto the floor. And all the banging and crashing. I grabbed some kitchen roll and a dishcloth and tried to mop up the milk as it was running everywhere; I ended up with more running down the sink cupboard as I carried the milk-soaked cloth over to the sink. So flying may well be in the kitchen again tomorrow.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.7 -

Oh no!I really feel for you as that sort of thing has happened to me several times and it's horrible to have to clean up such a difficult mess. Sending mega hugs.

both sanded doors have had undercoat and one top coat on the inside, They’ll need another top coat on the inside and two on the outside, they are balance on loo rolls on the table (rather than lay them on a dust sheet) so the air can circulate. They have new knobs too…there was no way I was sanding them! I did contemplate sanding the last door but as i can only fit two on the table thought it best to leave it, plus I didn’t want to wear myself out…suddenly embarking on a full day of hard labour is probably not a good idea. I’ve also ironed everything in the basket and put it on the maiden. I emptied the bottom cupboard, wiped the skirting in there and vacuumed it out. The skirting was thick with dust and a damp cloth was deployed. The first door has been put back, properly.
I have discovered the sander works much better if the dust box is emptied regularly. While i’ve got the toolbox out I remembered to screw the loose panhandle tightly, so no more wobbles - another tick ✅ on the Toots list.
I had a bath to recover, as i was a bit achey. And i have a tiny blood blister on my little finger.

1 of 3 parcels packaged and ready to post.. I need to sort the other 2 tomorrow.I am hoping to have the energy to fling some more in the girls room tomorrow.. I need to wash the whole external wall.. it has a mouldy bit from next doors guttering leaking and a mouldy bit from condensation above Squeaks bed.. I'd love to fling enough out of there that there was space to decorate it.. that might never happen though

Morning all xx
It's Friyayyyyyy 💃 thank goodness. Considering that four days is always the same amount of time some four days seem to drag on a lot longer than others! Aka it's been a loooooong week. Today should pass quickly - I've been rotaed to cover all Therapy plus take calls for two other services (by our holidaying supervisor.) Rolling my sleeves up ready....
I'm up, made my bed, dressed, packed my lunch, eaten breakfast and I'm supping my brew. I'll feed the birds and put out the recycling as I leave the house.
Wow! You've all been busy beavers 🦫. If I had any shame left you'd put me to it 🤔
But I haven't so that's OK.
Fayolle: P is at home waiting to be summoned to the hospital for the operation.
CoG: how do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time. You've made a start on the RoD. Well done. It feels like an achievement because it is an achievement. Don't sell yourself short. I once emptied a crammed ottoman one item at a time....it took a while but it got done. And starting was the hardest part.
Love to all.

Painted the outside of the doors at 5 am lol…with any luck I can get these finished today and back on. I’m beyond thrilled to have made such progress on de-browning the house. I might even paint the kitchen door which I glossed prior to making the decision to use silk. I will use the actual gloss I have left on a primed door at work, which desperately needs a gloss coat.
Sending chucking vibes and spoons to Piggers
CoG…what Round said. Read the OP about dot-to-dot.

OH kept me awake until 3am with his stupid coughing.. why the heck doe coughing require juming up and down, kicking your legs and groaning like a medieval door??? I swear if he doesn't stop coughing I will put him in one! As a result I am a joy to behold. I have a pounding headache and after 4 hours sleep I am an absolut pig.. I have no energy to even look at the girls room and I am really angry with him.. i need that room vaguely habitable and it simply is not.
I have to rejiggled the budgetting and I can't find a pen.. why can I not find a flipping pen??
AND I will have 2 upset girls tonight.. it is a school disco and it is 4-5.. we have a 25 minute walk each way from school.. and they will need to get changed and have a snack so we can't even get back until 5 so they cannot go.. I have emailed and complained.. I appreciate the staff who have organised it but it isn't very considerate of the parents who live more than 5 minutes away... the times are really thoughtless.. Beanie would be unfed, in the pushchair from 2pm until 6:30 if DD1 were to allow hers to go.. it's really annoying, especially as Pixie is yr 6 so possibly the last one she will have at primary school.

9:35 school rang wanting me to pick Squeak up... I said no.. They aren't even trying! It's not mine or her fault they haven't staff to deal with her! I am not impressed today.
