Evening all.
(((Hugs))) to Flamingo re the car - rotten luck. Nevertheless I hope you and your OH will have a pleasant day together tomorrow and enjoy your lunch.
I spent an hour this morning phoning the cataract clinics and have made my decision about which hospital to ask the optician to refer me to, namely the local one (much shorter waiting times, much shorter journey), then this evening I have talked to each of my DC. DS1 said I'd obviously asked all the right questions and offered lifts if it's at a time when he can skive off school (remember, he's 50yo!), so I feel I've chosen wisely. First thing tomorrow morning I must ring the optician so that he can start the referral process.
Other than that, I have done the dailies but otherwise not a great deal of flying. Rosie got her walk early as DH and I were going out at lunchtime, and I haven't had to cook a meal this evening. A few oddments of bread flour and other bits (several years ood) from the larder found their way into the black bin before the bin men came
Tomorrow's list:
- dailies
- optician
- chiropractor
- funeral of a wonderfully and sometimes outrageously outspoken 90yo lady from church, followed by the wake: she used to use all the fruit and veg from her garden that she couldn't eat to make preserves to sell in aid of the church, so I'm hoping it will be her pickles that are used in the sandwiches and her jam on the cakes. It should be a good send-off to round off a good life lived to the full
- Rosie's walk
- K to collect a blanket box which my neighbour has given her, and I'll see if she wants to join us for tea (her DDs will be at Scouts)
- at the end of Scouts, deliver W's birthday present and card in person (and maybe get some birthday cake)
Hope everyone sleeps well tonight - see you all tomorrow xxx

morning all
long day at work yesterday, I’m very pleased as i’ve changed to the new invoicing format on the accounting software (I’m a reluctant adopter of new formats when i’m so confident with previous ones) so i’ll be up and running when the old one is pensioned off in September. All invoices done and sent, bar the two I need details for and they are done in draft format.Went to M&S for tea, self scanned and then forgot how to upload the data from the scanner onto the machine. i’ve various M&S gift cards and DD and I just scored another £5 answering a sport england survey as they wanted 2 people per household. Spent it on chocs for DDs birthday.
Cleared out my laptop bag and handbag last night. Set WM overnight which includes all the hankies I found in my bag. Reducing tissue use is going well 🤣
Oh i had pegged out my swim towel so that went on the maiden to dry.
Today I plan to label my marmalade and put it away. I’m going to take the painted door back off and try rehanging it. And i’m moving onto the next door as it’s fine so I can sand it outside. Wearing my 2019 school hoody so it’s not wasted. That was the year I made it on to the Isle of Wight trip!
Soappie the lady/gent from Blackpool hasn’t been here, either. And I didn’t win Euromillions. 😒☹️
Hugs to all. happy February.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Morning from a sunny but cold Scotland. It's going to be a slow day as I have woken up with pain in my back, hope it is only caused by the way that I have slept but I have applied some heating muscle cream to hopefully ease it.
My list for today
Get dressed
Feed the animals
Do paid stuff
Make a list of income/direct debits and payments for next month
Check banking and update direct debits
Send email to the solicitor for an update
Do shift as invigilator at local school
Finish putting lining paper on the bedroom walls
Speak to DH regarding rearranging the layout of the bedroom
Make a start on painting the bedroom
Do required uni work
Dust the living room
Hoover the carpets downstairs.
Sort bags/clothes/lunches for tomorrow
Think that is everything that I need to get done today. Hope everyone has a lovely Thursday.

I won a £25 Amazon voucher for filling in a questionnaire about gluten free bread.. it might not be a million but it will pay for some cat food!
eeeeeeeewwww.. cotton hankies are vile, I was forced to use them for many years as a child.. a pocket full of snot.. you also use products and water and electricity to laundry them.. possibly iron them .. which you should to kill off any remaining germs and viral particles.. I much prefer a biodegradable tissue, many can be found made from recycled products now which doesn't need washing or ironing or sticking to my hand when I reach in my pocket for some other thing.. and if my 7 year olds sleeves are anything to go by there is no reason to think the mucus is even washed off when you do wash them, her school cardies have to be washed a couple of time to rid them is secretions quite often. Catch it, bin it, kill it!!! It is not a falling star! it is a collection of potentially harmful bacteria and viral particles your body has evicted!
I have bought some bamboo cloths to use instead of kitchen roll which I hope will reduce the use of tissue products in the kitchen and most other places. We use it it for other more disgusting jobs like cleaning up cat spleurk so will still need it but it may reduce the waste somewhat.
Squeaks options evening last night was interesting.. we were pretty much last to leave because she refused to speak to staff about the subjects until almost everyone had gome home.. but I had a 'parents evening' style discussion with her history teacher.. I needed that.. I asked him to send me any work she could cover at home.. she is currently doing history 1-2-1 outside of the classroom with another member of staff.. her EHCP should be in place just before Easter.
I am gathering spoons to make a start in the girls sh!7-tip.. if anyone wants to come help please do.. I am totally overwhelmed.. I need before and after pics too. they will put anyone off having children!

I'm hoping I can rouse myself to do some drum practice and a tiny bit of dusting in the bedroom; vacuuming will have to wait till tomorrow. However, it is going to be hard not to just make a coffee and slob out in front of TV.
This morning I've done a heap of washing up, wiped surfaces, emptied and washed food waste bin, put the tea cosy I use for my cafetiere in to soak as I had the hot water. Will be really interesting to see what my meter readings are this month; on balance 'home alone' I've only had the gas heating on once, have used the immersion a bit more than usual, the electric fire a couple of short periods, less washing and DW than usual.
Misted the lounge plants and spotted some evil scale insects so attacked them with a wipe.
I've carried the big vacuum upstairs ready for this afternoon but now I'm going to do a bit more jigsaw with my coffee as the light is so much better this time of day. Then Pilates, drum lesson and Mr T. Then who knows.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.7 -
Boiler fixed..2 loads of washing found from the girls room5 boxes of books sorted to be rehomed.
3 binbags of rubbish and I have barely scratched the surface in there.. the floor is still not visible at all!!
WC harpic'd.. I will go give that a scrub in a sec.. then get some food and have a rest and gather some spoons.
I am having a manic day I think!!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)6 -
Afternoon all
It has been such a hectic few days here! We then lost power during the night which came back on an hour ago thankfully. No power also means no water here so an extra challenge!
Now it is back on the WM and TD are going, there is a load on the line and my laptop & phone are charging! Fire has been roaring since 5.30am.
I confess Piggers that we use cotton hankies here - yes I know why a lot of people don't like them, but it's all I've ever used and I have a special selection that were my grandma's with her name hand sewn on.
Aww Soappie I am glad my witterings are enjoyable! And yes, apart from the dressing gown you are spot on. PJs, wellie socks over the top, wellies, fleece, my knitted headband that a lovely flylady made me a few years ago (I still don't know who that was but I wear it every single day!) and a bale of hay tucked under my arm. A lot of the sheep have names so I can be heard shouting "Nigel! Mary!" at the top of my voice too...
Right, I need to do some paid stuff, have fab rest of the days everyone xx7 -
another door off and sanded, another door off, more sheets bought for sander, this time from screwf1x, also did a couple of work errands en route, as there were posters to put up. One of the 5 packs of sheets i bought at the weekend turned out to only have 3 in, so there’ll be a complaint put in.
Soup scoffed. Now back out to sand againDon't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

loo re-harpic'd because it is still horrid and scaly. I need to get my knife on it I think.. Or get in there with a brillo pad and my gauntlets.pillow binned, 1 binbag, a smallish box and a handbag with a broken zip also binned.bank accounts balanced.I have not made much progress in the girls room despite this mountain being flung.. it is really disheartening when I have spent 3 hours and there is no visible difference. I have sorted some bits I want to flingon Vinted and I have 3 parcels to package.. I will do those when I get back from school.I need to get some mince out for dinner tomorrow and figure out what we are having today..Inhaler used many times and my chest is still fluttering.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)6

Agent Million will be going to Dorset and Wandsworth today. My understanding is that they visit at around 6pm as that's when you're most likely to be in. I'm guessing there are 2 of them now there are 2 big prizes.I've been flying a little in the background. Large bag of old clothes for recycling went to the charity shop today. I had hoped to buy a small slow cooker I saw at the weekend but it went yesterday. I didn't think I'd got a use for it, but decided that I had, but too late. It was a tenner, looked online and can get a new one for £15 so no great loss. Had a clean of the bathroom yesterday. It's mainly being used at the moment to dry washing, with airers hanging over the bath. The amount of dust that accumulates in there never ceases to amaze me. I'm keeping up with cleaning the ensuite on Mondays. Will clean the oven again tomorrow hopefully, as toad in the hole is planned for tonight.Make £2025 in 2025
