MorningOH has gone to get his new to him car, I declined to go, instead I'm going to the tip!
I am fed up with the stuff he says is useful just lying around in the garage, and a trip hazard. A load of it is stuff that the previous owner left behind and we have been here 3 years now, I doubt he will even notice it has gone.

Things are not going well here with the car issues again, so difficult to keep doing stuff and not just shut down (thanks adhd.)

Good afternoon from a very stormy Scotland. I'm coming in with my post now as I didn't get a chance this morning, as I was rushing around getting ready for my first job as an invigilator and dropping DD at school.
So far today I have
Got dressed
Fed the animals
Completed my first shift job as an exam invigilator at my local school.
My plan for the rest of today
Do paid stuff
Finish off monthly work for freelance contracts and send monthly invoices.
Do required uni work
Update my cv and apply for a very interesting part-time contract that has become available locally.
Go into town to get more paint for the bedroom
Finish putting lining paper on the bedroom walls
Dust the living room
Hoover the carpets downstairs.
Make a list of income/direct debits and payments for next month
Sort clothes/lunches/bags for tomorrow
I think that is everything that I need to tackle today. Hope everyone has a good Wednesday.9 -
Went to bed very late so got up very late, which put me right back. All I managed this morning was to take A to the barber to have his hair cut. By the time we got back it was time to make lunch and since then I've just fiddle-faddled around but need to wash up now and I really need to have a go at sorting out the ROD as the electrician/plumber is coming either tomorrow or Friday to sort out one or two issues, one of which will requite him to go into the ROD

Looks like we have to replace the car. Not ideal as no savings, and inbthe 5 week wait between tax creds and UC, so we don't have a concrete household income amount for applying for a loan. The rest of the week he's using a hire van, costing the equivalent of 34 hours of work 😵
Will have to tackle inside cupboard wipe downs tomorrow, but it is our wedding anniversary so I'll be going to work with him and we'll have a little thing from the nearby bakery for lunch together.Married 40y.o. mum of an autistic 11y.o. Carer/SAHM.

Evening all,
Hugs aplenty, especially to Valli and Flamingo. And to Narc0, for getting on with it all just fine. Round, I hope that you have heard from P and that all has gone well x
Wm run before work, HHI this evening after cooking dinner, kitchen tidied, full dw is running. DH went to the market today (used to be my “job” when I dropped DD at school, but now I am in work too early), so I have a lot of fruit and veg to meal plan around for the next week. Happy for him to do this every fortnight, as the quality is good and the prices are keen.
A library book that I had reserved (thank you ASB for the recommendation) has become free. I now have 3 books on the go. Can reading count as flying? It would help me mightily if so.

Hi all
Valli I can't add anything useful to what's already been said but it must be so tough and I suppose it makes us all realise just how difficult these situations are. My aging Ps are so far managing OK but my brother is "down South" so most of the caring will fall to me.Hugs Flamingo what a rubbish situation to be in.
Lots of tricky stuff going on here around decisions relating to DHs health and work. He has made enquiries about benefits and the adviser was confident that he will get some help but who knows. Waiting for a Fit Note from Doctors now.
Flying has been minimal, I am still snuffly and have a headache, but the paid stuff has been quite enjoyable today and I managed 20 minutes Pilates and a 20 minute walk.
Is it nearly weekend?7 -
Managed a better night's sleep but still felt on the verge of a cold, so did a Covid test at 7.30 as I had uni later - negative. Noticed our last 4 test kits expired 3 days ago. Cancelled Body Pump. Took it a bit easy in the morning, but did manage to put everything away where it should be in the bedroom and cleared out one drawer. Emptied all bins in the house and decluttered an old and stained tea cosy (we have 2 others), an old and previously favourite pair of fleece trousers and a couple of other things.
Put dry clothes away.
Had a nice student at uni, another easy one to write up. Decided not to do any grocery shopping on the way home as nothing is essential and as I'd finished uni early owing to speedy student, I didn't want to hang around and meet rush hour.
Slightly disappointing dinner; I thought I'd got a portion of frozen vegetable mash out to defrost but it turned out to be rhubarb fool.....not so good a companion to salmon, plus I had some yesterday (knowing it was rhubarb fool as the label on that box was still attached) and it hadn't frozen well; was really fibrous. Ick. Perhaps I will heat it tomorrow as basically it is just rhubarb and custard!
I'm hoping I can rouse myself to do some drum practice and a tiny bit of dusting in the bedroom; vacuuming will have to wait till tomorrow. However, it is going to be hard not to just make a coffee and slob out in front of TV. I had a hot lemon to fend off the impending cold after lunch so fingers crossed it won't develop.
BIL arrived safely to join Mr N. Tomorrow they are moving on so I don't imagine I will hear from him as much; I'm a bit sad about that but keep reminding myself that the last week of messages has been more than I expected, given the isolated location they are in.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.8 -
I washed up, and did the last little bit of TD from yesterday. Took a bag of rubbish down and read the electricity meter. Came back up and input the reading online and emailed the managing agent to ask for an update on a couple of maintenance issues (the roof leak and remedial works on the fire safety equipment which was installed incorrectly last year). I made a start on the ROD but felt overwhelmed as I can't throw everything away and I just don't know where to put things. One thing I did do was to box up an electric toothbrush which I bought last year but which had developed a fault and had been replaced. Tomorrow I will send it back to the retailer, which has its own recycling scheme. I wrote a birthday card for my brother and will post it tomorrow. I helped A order a birthday gift for his brother.I tried on some trousers which I'd bought online and had arrived last week. The fit isn't great but they were a replacement for a pair I'd sent back for other reasons so I don't know if they will now give me a refund so I sent them an email to ask. I made tea and washed up. By this time it was dark so I gave up on the ROD.I prepared supper (another ready meal
) and am about to wash up. I have eaten too much chocolate.

Evening everyone.
Hugs to those who need them and those that don't anyway!
Busy morning today as I scheduled Mr T to deliver an hour earlier than normal because I had a face-to-face appointment at my GP surgery for 11:20 about my blood pressure. So, put Mr T stuff away and then headed off to the surgery. It was at the smaller satellite building which has a tiny car park. Both disabled parking bays on-street were taken up as I arrived so I drove into the tiny car park to find there was only one space left which had a "doctor only" notice on the wall at the end of the bay. I thought "sod it!" and parked there anyway but did put my blue badge on the dashboard.. There were no other parking spaces available...
Got into the surgery and signed in to find my appointment was with someone who was stationed on the first first floor but the lift was out of order. Spoke to receptionist and told her there was no way I was going to be able to get up the stairs so could my practitioner come down to me?
Practitioner did come down to a room on the ground floor about 10 minutes late and apologised for having kept me waiting but she had to wait until the ground-floor room was free. I apologised also and said sorry I wasn't able to make it up the stairs... Immediate response from the medic was "it's OK, they need to fix the lift".
Upshot of the consultation was that my BP seems to have stabilised to a suitably low level given the medication I'm on but I need to keep taking readings to check it doesn't stray again.
Sadly Agent Million hasn't knocked on the door today regardless of the fact I did take some time to sort out the living room surfaces and sweep the floor this afternoon just in case....
I am the leading lady in the movie of my life
