ASB i have resorted to an old fashioned alarm clock that I have to get out of bed to switch off! Hope tomorrow is a better day for you x
A good day here, my cold symptoms are finally starting to ease off after another 9 hour sleep last night. We have had the builder around. He is not sure whether the repointing can be done without scaffolding, he has gone away to think about it. Either way the work has to be done and DH has told him to make a start as soon as he can.
DH has been off work so has flown, I have just put a load of my work clothes on a quick wash. I have gradually gone more casual at work and some of my smarter stuff very rarely gets worn but I am reluctant to sell it because it's all decent quality and I will get hardly anything for it. Then sometimes I feel guilty for having all this stuff I dont wear. I need to have a sort out when I am in the right frame of mind.10 -
Evening all.
While DGD2 slept I wiped the laptop and then finished reading my book. Took her to toddlers group this afternoon and she's gone home now. Poppet finally got a walk at 6pm although it was still raining a bit. The house is now adult again apart from one toy which will go back in the shed tomorrow.
Tomorrow is a day of medical checks but I will try to fit some flying in.Spend less now, work less later.10 -
Thank you for the lists x
Well done to those heading towards sylph-dom. I’d like to join you, but I’m not sure that a big portion of veg-loaded (packed in cauli, broccoli, peas and mushrooms, quite proud of that) mac n cheese this evening has helped my campaign.
Belated thoughts going out to P, Round x
ASB, I hope tomorrow is a better day x
Thank you for the shortbreads in the WAC last night. That night lasted a long time, I swear I just dozed for most of it. This evening, I am hoping that a yoga session later will help me sleep better.
Stressy day at work. Other people’s incompetences became my priorities, which, needless to say, went down like a lead balloon. Tomorrow the calculator is coming back out on the pension numbers, yet again. Flying limited to wm x 1 first thing this morning, then dinner, kitchen etc this evening. Day off tomorrow, meeting a friend who I haven’t seen for ages, maybe well over a year. Looking forward to it, even though it means facing my driving demons and driving 45 miles each way.9 -
Evening all. Thanks for the new thread @Valli
Pottered about today generally moving bits around. But, I have sorted out the two fridges and thrown old stuff away and emptied the bins as there is a refuse collection tomorrow. Also refilled the indoor log store.
It didn't help that it has been so grey all day today with mist and low-lying cloud. I need some sunshine please...I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

And they've decided that P needs open heart surgery to replace his aortic valve - which is exactly what they said two weeks before Christmas! If they'd done it then he'd be well on the road to recovery now. And breathe..
I've showered, washed my hair and been watching TV in my nightie. All worn clothes are in the laundry hamper. Girding my loins to face work tomorrow.

piggers - P was in hospital on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, then again on Boxing Day, and New Year's Day. So their cunning plan backfired, but I hear your logic. Similar to me getting an onslaught of hospital discharge referrals at 4pm every Friday. Send them home for the weekend.
Up the wooden hill for me.
Sweet dreams. Night night

Morning all
Just popping in to send supportive hugs to everyone. I have let the dogs out, fed the sheep and slurped a cuppa. Now I really must get dressed.
Take care all xx9 -
inside of the door has had two coats, outside one so needs one more. Hoping to get it finished and on today.
Took mum to dentist. Showed them my PoA. She called me an evil ‘female dog’ and I cried because I was trying not to be angry, not to let her walk out and to be calm…and then when I was telling stepdad he started going on about not needing to tell everyone about her illness - well there were no patients in the waiting room, so i wasn’t ‘telling the world’ then spoke to my sister who started on at me saying perhaps i’d better not do appointments if i can’t cope. I’m fed up with her attitude too. I found out she had arranged for the pharmacist to issue. the tablets in blister packs, so she gets four weeks made up at a time…but she’s been keeping them at her house. She lives an hour away … I can walk to the pharmacy from home so me collecting the tablets and keeping them here would make more sense. This came to light when my sister was ill and couldn’t drive up here with the tablets. She called round last Friday to drop off the tablets having decided that, actually, it makes more sense for me to have them here (well durr…) but THEN wasn’t pleased because I wasn’t in to receive them not that she’d told me she’s bringing them! I did suggest i could actually collect them from the pharmacy but (and I quote) ‘the chemist knows me so it’s best if i get them’.
Right. Tomorrow i’m going to pick up MY meds. From THE SAME SODDING PHARMACY.
This follows on from me suggesting a day out that some/all of the great grandchildren could also enjoy (tram museum) and I got a paragraph about her having made memories with mum (who now can’t quite remember who I am) which felt like a dig at me. When i explained it was for the kids as much as her, she suggested the weather might not be good (true, but this is for later in the spring). Niece was more positive. So THEN my sister said to let her know when it is happening.
There have been other incidents recently too.
I try not to rock the boat. Right now i feel like chucking it all in. Two phone calls from sis ignored.
No wonder Im awake. Sorry for ranting…it’s hard not being ‘miss perfect’.
