Hello all. Hope you're all doing well today.
Paid stuff completed until next Wednesday, dailies and admin done, skirting boards wiped. I'm waiting in for deliveries so Poppet will have to wait for her walk.Spend less now, work less later.6 -
washing out, breakfast scoffed, doors turned over and painted.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

Marmalade away, ironed stuff off maidens away, maidens away, recycling out, marmalade and iron away. Discovered one jar hasn't sealed properly - shame that wasn't the one I picked for breakfast which needed a jarkey to open. Anyway it's in the fridge; it'll be ok.
Doctors rung as all my asthma meds bar one are OOD - I've not used a blue inhaler for months but ought to carry one, I suppose. Wages calculated and set to be paid (though i can't actually pay them), payslips emailed and pension contributions sorted.
Might nip out for milk and drop in on the aged Ps with marmalade.

Hi all
Well done on the decluttering CofG, as Round said getting started is often the hardest part. And Pigpen what a strange start time for the disco, I bet a lot of people will struggle to get kids home and back for 4pm.
11 hours at the paid stuff yesterday. My cold has gone but I have strangely now started with a sore throat. Might try a bit of Vicks First Defence. I finished work early and have been out for lunch with parents then took them to the bank to sort out an old savings account. We need to make a repeat visit.
I should run the hoover around. DS2 is coming home tomorrow and we are out tomorrow night. I don't feel like moving off the sofa.

Twinkle is whining.. as per.. we have run out of bourbon biscuits... like that's my fault! We have had the box since last April and only she eats them so she can't really complain!Dot has been a joySqueaks school rang again at 2pm asking me to pick her up.. nope!! They finish at 3 and she had art as last lesson.. hardly taxing is it?
I've parcelled 3 parcels and arranged collection for tomorrowI have dug out Twinkles next size school dresses and put them in the washing machine.I have filled a large wheelie bin with recyclingI hung up a mountain of washingI took some things upstairs and to the kitchenI am still descaling toilets.
If I have some energy I might (huuuuuge fluffy might) go to my mothers later to alleviate her boredom since she cannot drive and the car failed the MOT on a few minorish things.Cuppa and a book for now I think.. I might go crazy and have an apple too so I don't get scurvy.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)6 -
Woke at 6am and the potential cold was making its presence felt. Made a cup of tea then dozed and read till about 10. Cancelled Step class as I'd probably fall off it or have a coughing/sneezing fit. Decided to be gentle with myself by keeping doing little things so I don't feel useless; I seem to have the concentration span of a pencil today.
- all upstairs rooms have been vacuumed although there is a bit too much clutter in my study so that has to be a weekend priority.
- remains of mess from kitchen accident cleared: washing up done, floor swept, surfaces and cupboard doors wiped down.
- did a bit of weeding as it was so much warmer outside than in my house. Rather annoyed as it would have been a lovely day to spend gardening if I'd had the energy and focus. Does reading in the conservatory count?
- had a brief tidy in the lounge as my neighbour messaged wanting me to help her with some forms (I told her to come round in half an hour - it wasn't that untidy but it was good to do it).
- Uni sent me through 3 more student referrals so I've printed one off and queried another.
- continuing with writing up Wednesday's assessment.
I'm wanting to do some drumming practice properly everyday as I really wasn't in the mood for yesterday's lesson - I expected my students to practise their spellings etc when I was teaching, so I have myself to blame if I haven't practised enough! Just a natural sloth, me.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.8 -
Thanks for the encouragement everyone. I didn't do any more in the ROD as I didn't have time today but as I made some good progress in other areas I'm not bothered. This morning I did the eye meds, emptied the kitchen bin and took it down and then walked to the M&S Simply Food. I really want to get back to walking regularly and this was a walk of about 2 and a half miles all together, so not bad, especially as I walk fairly quickly. When I got back I had a quick vac around, cleaned the loo and bathroom basin and emptied out the airing cupboard, which is quite deep, partly because it was untidy, partly because I want to put the Christmas decorations in there to free up a draw so that jumpers that are normally dumped on a bedroom chair can have a proper home. I also vacc'd and wiped the floor of the airing cupboard (well the part you can see anyway).I then did more eye meds, made lunch and then the plumber/electrician came as we had a few small jobs that needed to be done. He lowered the max temperature that the immersion gets to, fixed a problem with the loo seat, fixed a loose tap in the kitchen, replaced a faulty light switch in the ROD and replaced the light bulb in there as the previous one was so dim it was like having the room lit by a couple of glow worms. Finally he repaired the door bell, which had stopped working, and fixed a small padlock which goes on the gates to the bin area and which had broken. All that in 80 minutes (including going out twice to an electrical shop) and he only charged us £50, plus £10 for the new light switch and light bulb. What a joy to get so many small, but niggling, jobs out of the way. After he'd gone I washed up and then put everything back neatly in the airing cupboard, including the Christmas decorations, put some jumpers where the decorations had been and then did eye meds again after which I took the car to be cleaned. When I got back I made tea and soon it will be time to make supper. All-in-all quite a productive day.6
