Madness. Fair enough if you want a bargain, but don't risk your HEALTH for it for god's sake... I saw footage of people running into Selfridges grabbing anything they could get their hands on. It's all a bit too aggressive for my liking. I'll wait until mid-January when the crowds have subsided and the prices have been cut even more, before I venture out!0 -
Children in pushchairs?....Hmmmm let me leave my 2 month old at home alone, without me there to feed her.
Why should people with young children have to miss out on the sales?
Next was very busy and there wasn't a lot of space to move around. It's unfair to drag a kid through that.
And I didn't say to leave them home alone, or that parents should miss out on sales.0 -

They probably realised how crap the sale at Next was and came over all faint."I'm not from around here, I have my own customs"
For confirmation: No, I'm not a 40 year old woman, I'm a 26 year old bloke!0 -

Trouble is, a lot of folk don't have anyone to leave the kids with, so the choice is either take them or miss the sales, surely?
Just to amuse all the folk that are sneering at the Next sales, I was in three different Nexts today! (It's my big shopping day today.) And I didn't see a single instance of pushing, shoving, swearing or any poor behaviour in any of them, or yesterday when I went early to the big one near me. I did see folk helping one another lift stuff, making room for buggies, chatting over clothes and in the queues and generally having a good time. Are Edinburgh folk really that much better behaved, I wonder?Val.0 -
We went there today and it was a madhouse. The worst thing was that staff were trying to put their 'normal' stock out whilst shoppers were in the store so they were taking up loads of room moving the stands about etc.
I bought some stuff on line this morning, although that was annoying as well as it kept crashing but I think we got a few bargains.
Good luck, but at the end of the day it isn't worth it to come to harm!!!

it just isn't always that easy to get a sitter, and as a parent you give up a lot of freedom as it is. I have to say that I have just taken my two to Next, we were there for 15 minutes and they played up through out, they are now in bed with no DS or baby annabelle, I could understand it if the shop were busy or if they were dragged round for hours but not an empty shop for 15 minutes!! monstersI do feel bad for younger kids getting dragged round shop after shop so I do see your point, but it was perhaps a little too general for text, it came across abit sharp iyswim?
I went to a normal store, found a coat I had really wanted reduced by £50, and picked up a matching suit too (the coat was on the wrong size hanger, as were the suit trousers, and the suit was in 2 differant parts of the shop, I dont think it would have been there otherwise)
Picked up a few other bits and some combats for hubby at work, I dont think we will need to buy anything for a good while now and I finished shopping for my work stuff (I went back to work after 6 yrs sahming) on house of fraser and Next so did fairly well. I think I will have to avoid this website for a few weeks though, I have spent enough
The next stock was varied with some of this seasons stock, but it looked like the newer stuff sold out very fast and left the summer stuff which hadn't sold in the summer sale, iyswim?0 -
our store was quite busy i got stuck in an aisle for ages by 2 pushchairs, lots of people tutting etc...lol
i remember taking my 2 yr olds dd with my one year and people were tutting at me. lol
i spent 30 pounds 2day, was quite careful what i bought, and then i got given by dad in law 30 pound gift card for next later that day -doh!0 -
Am gutted that a coat I bought for my hubby for xmas is now half price :-(
do they give u the difference if its been reduced if you go in with ur receipt?
I meant to add that the coat still has its tags on - he has been ill so hasnt tried it on yet! Would I be able to return it and then re buy it at the reduced cost?
Thanks0 -
If it's faulty and you have the receipt then you cold return it and buy the cheaper version, there is no issue with Next marking the tag as it was brought prior to the sale.0
