    Hello,
I´m just touching base. I have slipped this week food wise due to a combination of things but am trying to do extra exercise to help minimise the damage and hope to get back on track soon. I seem to be getting headaches too, which I don´t normall suffer from so that is slightly worrying. I´m going to cut out the Alpen Light bars which I have been having twice a day for a while now. They stop me eating biscuits but might be causing the headache. Can´t think what else it could be. I am trying to drink plenty water.

Ok now the positive bit. I have a good recipe to share:

PASTA WITH SMOKED SALMON - or use other thinly sliced smoked fish for a cheaper version.
2 SYNS ON GREEN (use 28g smoked salmon per person)
OR FREE IF YOU COUNT THE SALMON AS A HEALTHY EXTRA B (double check how much salmon you can have in this case)

Fry a few slices of mushroom in fry light.
Cook pasta as normal and drain.
Slice smoked salmon into small pieces and throw onto the drained but still hot pasta. This will cook it slightly so it will turn a nice cooked shade of pink and go flaky.
Throw in mushrooms and a few leaves of spinach if you have them. These will wilt.
Stir through a tablespoon or two of quark to give some flavour.

Mmm delicious! And the rest of the salmon can be kept for the next original day when you can have it on toast with lemon and black pepper or as a picky snack.

    Good morning

It has been a hellish couple of days, very stressful and although I coped on Thursday diet wise I didn't yesterday. Pizza, icecream, white bread sandwiches to name but a few. I don't know why because SW is so easy to stick to and I love it. I do know I am due my period and usually have the munchies but to go off the rails to that extent  Never mind.

I am not letting that be an excuse to give up altogether, back today and needing to do a good shop, will go to Asda soon. I will keep myself busy today so don't have time to raid the cupboards..

Have a great day everyone!!
  • Hey guys....I had better confess too.

I fell right out of the wagon yesterday. I don't know what happened. I was just having one of those days with the kids, almost at the end of my period and had coped really well squashing those cravings. But yesterday was just too much.
I had a lovely phonecall from my OH (first I have heard in over a week - he is in Iaq) and I just felt like it was all too much. So I pigged out on junk food all day.

I am not even going to go ito what I had because I just don't want to think about it.

So between now and Monday it is damage limitation.

Hope you are all OK, good luck Hostie for your WI today.

    LM

    Hi everyone

I started SW on Thursday and ate loads yestarday (it took quite a whiole to eat anything because i had to look it up before I ate anything and I dutifully wrote it all down. The SW lady was very nice and asked to do this for the first couple of weeks for her to see and this morning she rung up to make sure that I'm doing OK.

Also I've just come back from Aldi with loads of fruit and veg because they have an offer on apples, tomatoes, grapes, fresh pineapple and baking potatoes. All 59p per pack. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

So so far I'm feeling really positive

I hope everyone else is doing OK

  • Mmmmmm that smoked salmon recipe is definitely getting a try out very soon. Just popping in, so far had one slice of cake, DH made sure it was more cake than icing (what a sweetheart) and had a bacon sarnie for lunch with a HEB of bread and some ketchup, I know my syns will be screwed for today so what is one more LOL. Going to make roast beef and loads of veg and some SW roasties for dinner tonight and I confess I bought the homemade icecream from the local village as DS loves it, I am going to offer him that with more of his cake for dessert, I will see how I feel if I have any but I doubt it as I don't have a sweet tooth at the best of times and I found the cake was lovely but sweet enough for me, and I can resist icecream most of the time too unless pregnant LOL. I am going to have a glass of wine though as DH leaves tomorrow for a fortnight. Should have been home another week at least but apparently he is indispensible grrrr. So it is drive DH to the airport tomorrow and straight back on plan, I will have to go shopping too but I might go to Costco and see what I can find, maybe Alpen Lights if I am lucky and will buy a big box of them LOL.

    Hi

Does anyone know if quorn roast is free on green? It just says 'mince or pieces' in my book.

Making a roast dinner for the inlaws tomorrow (they use frylight too so it'll be fine) and I thought it would be 'syn cheaper' than a nut roast.

I'm getting a 1st birthday cake for my lad too so I'll have to have some will power!

Quorn chicken style roast is free on red and green days. QR with sage and onion stuffing in redcurrent port and citrus gravy (ugh) chilled 3.5 per pack red and green.

QR SLICES with just sage and onion stuffing is free on both days.

Ah. I haven't heard of any of those things. Last time I bought quorn, all you could get was the sausages, mince, pieces or a long tube thing that you cut into slices. Not sure I fancy any of those things. I'll have a look in the shop later. Thank you.
