No i haven't as i thought they looked odd! i want to give them a try now!

Well i would try it, my tip is to use more sweetener, it says 2 to 3 tablespoons on my recipe so i would defo go for the 3. i have a list somewhere of different ones. ill have to dig them out.

1 weetabix (crushed)
1 tsp mixed spice
1 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tbsp mincemeat
sweetner
3 eggs
wet the scan bran with boiling water just enough to make it resemble breadcrumbs i usually break it up with a fork whilst adding water ive found if you get it too wet it goes soggy not wet enough and it has hard bits in it
then crumble 1 weetabix in and add the other dry ingredients and mincemeat (you can omit this if you want to save syns
whisk the eggs untill they are fluffy then mix it all together and put it in a baking tin i usually use a foil dish because it seems to cook better cook in the oven about 20 mins on 180
good luck
i hope ive got all that right

Help!

I'm on a red day and have made the SW quiche - it's got a really weird yucky taste.
So I made a curry with leftover chicken from the freezer but i had to do it in the microwavw as we've run out of gas (cynlinders) and it's yucky too - half mushy half crunchy.

I'm hungry!!!!

I've got eggs, bacon, ham and various veg in. What can i make quickly in the microwave?

• I have done the couscous cake, it doesn't come out tremendously cakey from memory and doesn't really keep long so you have a good excuse to pig out on it on green. It has an eggy, omlettey texture IIRC which took a bit of getting used to but it was easy and did hit the spot with a cuppa. Haven't tried any of the scan bran ones and there is a weetabix one somewhere still to try, I have only just discovered SB having been very suspicious of them until now but I have to say I quite like them as they are but I am sure they would make terrific cakes, really have to give that a go.

As for MSE SW, hmmmm, I never seem to be able to do both. I can either lose weight or save money. As soon as I try to do both it all goes horribly wrong. Although I think I have plateaued a bit, I started off eating heaps cos I could, I am now at the stage where I can't quite be bothered eating that amount any more so have almost cut out snacking these past few days. Scan brans help as I feel very full after them so having them for lunch as a HEB means I can't look at much more before dinner. ALpen Lights haven't been touched in a couple of days now as I have used my HEBs for porridge and scan bran and then not really missed out not having them. Had a Hovis digestive if I had to have something with a cuppa as it is only 2 syns (psychological I think). So I must be spending less as a result. I seem to be going through a lot more meat than normal though and I am generally not a big meat eater but the red days are just suiting me more to fit round the family. But green days would be cheaper. And I am spending much more on veg although the fruit is about the same as we always have loads of that. But that is because I am adding extra veg to red days as I can't have tatties well not as many as I want. See I should really have green days as our family eat a lot of tatties and they are cheap as..um...chips! I think it might be time to do next weeks meal plan and have a few more green days, I really enjoyed the one I did on Friday more than any other day in the week cos I got to have curry but that wasn't very cheap as it was made with king prawns.
• You can scramble eggs in the microwave and do bacon at a push. So long as you cut off the fat and maybe pat it with kitchen paper after as it does get quite soggy it should be fine. Sorry your curry and quiche were yuck, I remember the quiche being nice but Idid mine with corned beef in the days when that was free.

i think scrambled eggs are indeed my only option.
i think it's the cottage cheese that makes the quiche weird

Hi all,

i re joined SW last monday (my 4th time) i have a panic disorder made worse by my weight i believe, i tried to do the plan on my own but i'm rubbish, its my first weigh in tomorrow and i am really nervouse but i take my mum with me, this forum seems to be just what i need for extra motivation as i dont know anyone in my local area!

6 stone to lose

i will post again after my meeting tomorrow......fingers crossed

Hi and welcome :hello:

I know what you mean when you say your weight makes your panic disorder worse, when I started SW last year I had over 7.5 stone to lose, I now have just over 3 stone left to lose, I am less panicky when I go out places and not as paranoid about what people think of me but it still affects me at times, hopefully I will continue to get more confident as I keep losing weight.

Good luck for tomorrow.

13 lbs still left to lose
• HAven't made it but this sounds nice, meant to be a bit like malt loaf I think.

Weetabix Cake

Serves: 12
Syns per serving:
3½ Syns on both choices

2 Weetabix
113g/4oz sultanas
142ml/5floz skimmed milk
142ml 5floz water
113g/4oz self-raising flour
1 teaspoon mixed spice
14g/½ oz artificial sweetener (optional)
1 egg, beaten

1. Preheat the oven to 180ºC, 350ºF or Gas Mark 4
2. Put the Weetabix and sultanas in a bowl. Pour the milk and water over the top and leave to soak up all the liquid.
3. Stir in the flour, mixed spice, sweetener and beaten egg.
4. Spoon the mixture into a 454g (1lb) lined/non-stick loaf tin and bake in the preheated oven for 1¼ hours until cooked.
5. Cool on a wire rack before serving then cut into 12 slices.

My bugbear is Babybels - they're lovely and handy for lunch boxes but £2 for 12! This last us 2 days although I've tried to cut us down from 3 a day to 2 to save money but we're allowed 3! :(

Because they're so expensive I get the normal Babybels, *not* Babybel lights. They are 2 for a Healthy A so they do last me longer.
