Well done everyone on your losses it is very motivating to read them but I wish I also had a loss to report! I am having a bit of a down moment as I am finding it REALLY hard to cut down my chocolate and biscuits
and to stick to the syn level in general. I have been managing to cook meals within the free foods so I think it is my sweet tooth that is letting me down! I try to avoid aspartamine so it is difficult to find sweet substitutes. Maybe I just need to forget the aspartamine thing for a while until I lose the weight I need to. The thing is I am such a picker lol !!! Also I think I eat more than most people
so I think I have to cut down in general. Batch making and storing is virtually impossible for me as I tend to eat the whole batch.
Anyway thanks to everyone for posting their losses as it keeps me with it. I am determined to do it this time so hopefully this time next month I will have made some progress. Even if it is very slow I will be happy.24.06.14 12 st 12 lb (waist 45" at fattest part of belly)

Hi Hostie, i have made a mini breakthrough re the aspartame thingy. This is such a major factor for me that eventually it would have been my downfall, I would have eaten crap sweeteners till id lost the weight and then would have stopped and more than likely put it all back on.
My main problem was muller lights. They are filling and a good sweet hit, but I now only get the Total 0% yogurt (thanks everyone who suggested it!) and add fruit and/or have a drizzle of honey or golden syrup or whatever.
So tell us what are you eating that is so bad and let us help you find a way to make it a little more angelic!!
Regarding the eating loads - my fella is a builder and of an evening i am eating waaaay more than him!! He looks at me as if to say how the hell are you still losing weight?!! I do really well through the day and then just dont want to stop after my evening meal!
Make sure you have loads of good/free/low syns food around the house and enjoy! It has been said before but that is the best thing about SW - you can just keep on eating...
EDIT: Just read your post properly (hey it IS early!) and see chocolate & biscuits are the main problem. Why do you have them in the house? Cos of kids or fella? if they are for your partner make him keep them in the car (it works for me!!) and i also make him buy them when hes out and about - not when i do the main shop so that i dont know about them. If they are for kids then buy them something which you dont like. You need your familys support for this journey and if theyre not giving it put them on here and we'll sort them out for you ;o)
Chocolate - same as above really but how about only buying dark choc as it is a bit harder to scoff the whole lot OR keepsquares of chocolate in the freezer and have one at a time so that it melts sloooooooowy on the tongue instead of a whole bar disappearing before you even realise you've opened it. Or only have that low fat drinking chocolate in the house, my friend swears it was her saviour on SW when she needed a sweet fix.
Hope that is of some help

I've been told a high fibre diet is the way to go to help with constipation, although I also get it going the other way occasionally too, sorry, too much information!
I'm going to have to get to the doctors soon because it's causing me a lot of bother at the moment.

Hostie not sure what to suggest hun. I eat loads and always have had a hearty appetite (sadly long gone are the days when I could eat whatever I liked and not put on an ounce) and I just surround myself with synfree snacks, at the moment there is a synfree baba ganoush in there for when I am snacky and I can cut up some crudites quickly and scoff that. Other times I make extra synfree chips and stir magic seasoning and tabasco into some quark or 0% Total for another dippy feast. I like savoury things though so I think it is easier for me. I can happily have one chocolate square and leave it at that but if I see a bowl of nuts or crisps then that is fatal. What I have been doing is having the Alpen Lights as HEBs so that I can have one in the morning and one in the afternoon and that satisfies the biscuit with a cup of tea craving (or those new Ryvitas sound good), I then have Hovis Digestives for any other munchy moments when only a biscuit will do as they are 2 syns for one and I can stop after one or two as they are quite filling. What about making one of the scan bran cakes or couscous cake? It might be an easy way to get a cakey sweet hit. As for choccy that is harder but as has been suggested Options might do it or the Choc Orange Alpen lights are lovely.I just try and fit in so much free food that I can hardly manage too many syns. Good luck it isn't easy beating the cravings for things you love but shouldn't0

Would something like this help? I think I got it off the SW site at one point
By the way I realise the suggest AS but I think you could swap with sugar/xylitol and not add nearly as much. I often think the SW recipes over sweeten.
Chocolate mousse
Serves: 6
Syns per serving:
1 Syn on Green and Original
1 sachet gelatine
100ml/3½ fl oz boiling water
3 sachets Cadbury's Highlights
4 level tbsp artificial sweetener
511g/1 lb 2 oz very low fat natural fromage frais
2 egg whites
1. Sprinkle the gelatine onto the boiling water in a bowl. Stir to dissolve and set aside to cool.
2. Add the Highlights hot chocolate powder and sweetener to the fromage frais in a large bowl and stir well. Mix in the cooled gelatine.
3. Whisk the egg whites until they form stiff
peaks, then fold into the gelatine mixture using a metal spoon. Chill in the refrigerator until set.0 -
Or this?
Choc Orange Jelly
Serves: 4
Syns per serving: 3½ Syns on both choices
Preparation: approx 10 minutes plus cooling and setting
1 sachet sugar-free orange jelly crystals
2 x 150g pots Total 0% fat Greek yogurt
1oz/28g cocoa powder
2 tbsp granulated artificial sweetener
1 large orange
1oz/28g plain chocolate
1. Dissolve the jelly crystals in ¼ pt/142ml boiling water. Top up with a further ½pt/284ml cold water and set aside to cool completely.
2. Place the yogurt in a bowl and sieve in the cocoa powder and artificial sweetener, beating well to combine.
3. Gently pour the cooled jelly into the yogurt mixture, whisking at the same time, until smooth. Divide the mixture between 4 individual pudding moulds or serving dishes. Place in the fridge for at least 2 hours until set.
4. Meanwhile, using a sharp knife, slice the top and bottom off the orange and slice off the peel, taking away as much of the white pith as possible. Slice between each segment to release the flesh. Cover and chill until required.
5. To serve, dip the moulds in hot water for a few seconds and then invert on to serving plates. Serve with orange segments, and grate over the chocolate.0 -

Well, I had my weigh-in today and in my first slimming world week I lost... 9.5lb!!!!
I can't believe it, didn't know that was possible! I do have a lot to lose, but it's made me feel more motivated and pleased with myself!
I stuck to the plan well all week, but I know that my motivation being high will hopefully help me do that again this week. Even if I just maintain this week that will be fine, after 9 and a half pounds gone.
Yey!0
