I will be giving them to the kids then!!!

I didn't think they would be that much, otherwise I wouldn't have bought them. - they are only tiny!!!
  • MME - I haven't but know a bunch of people who have :)
  • Jsut made you syn free crisps for a wee snack Trix and they are yummy, going to have to look out my mandolin though as I am useless at cutting them evenly when that thin.

Hello to everyone. I'd like to join this thread and group. You all sound so motivated - this is like a slimming club without going !
I was previously a weight watcher - having tried for 7 years to get back to where I was in 2000. I lost 5 stone then and only ever thought WW was the diet for me, but it just wont come off now. I am older, dunno if that is why BUT my daughter also needs to lose weight (17 and weighs 17 stone) WW does not seem to work for her, so we are going to give SW a try.
I have tried it before but I really have to make this work for both of us. I need to lose 6 stone.
Looking forward to getting to know everyone. I have read through the entire thread now and taken some good links and some great recipes already. Dying to try the pasta quiche !
Good luck to everyone else on this journey :j
  • Good luck Ladybelle, I'm sure you will do just fine, it's great that you have your daughter following it with you too, will be extra motivation for you both.

Welcome ladybelle & daughter (i think daughter should join the thread too!) hope the pair of you really crack it this time. Isn't it funny how many of us have been through this game soooooo many times before??!

I got my one and a half stone award this week so I am really happy. I am making pasta quiche this evening. The crisps sound yummy so I might have a go at them.

  • I'm starving, wish hubby would hurry home so I can get dinner on!!

Who cooks a lot of the recipes from the SW books?

I've made quorn and bean chilli burgers tonight, but had to add a load of (free) instant mash to them, to get it to a state you can shape, it was a sloppy mess, do they not make the things up themselves to check they work grrr?!!

    Another shameless plug for SWF!!

  • Welcome Ladybelle and DD, way to go Nanamags on your 1.5 stone award - that is awesome.
Trixie I have been trying out some of the recipes from the magazines (which usually end up in a book or vice versa) and I have found them all to be good so far ALTHOUGH the latest magazine had a sweet and sour recipe that I thought was overly faffy and sort of missed out an explanation of one step in that I assume you throw out the eggwhite mixture after marinading and don't add it to the pan but it never really said. Turned out well though for all that. I never used to bother with the recipes in the old days of doing SW but I am finding it a lot more fun now that I do and I have discovered some firm favourite recipes as a result and the good thing is they tend to be really easy. It is more motivating when you try lots of different dishes I find. Oh no thinking on I did try some kind of quorn sausage baked bean casserole or pie thing about a year ago. Let's just say I ate it but it will never be repeated. But then again I am not a big fan of Quorn sausage:lipsrseal I should have known better really.

Don't know if anyone has tried them, but our consultant brought in some Ryvita Muesli Crunch for us to try last night, and they are yummy. Made with currants, oats, seeds, honey and brown sugar, they are lovely and sweet and you don't need anything on them. If you like a biscuit with your cuppa I reckon these are a great substitute. You can have 2 as a healthy extra (can't remember how many syns if not a HE).

I had my first weigh in last night and was chuffed to have lost 5lb! I have a long, long, way to go though
