  • Just another thought for Lilysmum - are you eating ENOUGH? Are you having all your syns and HEs? And are you really filling up on free foods, I think they should constitute about 80% of your food if I remember correctly? I did WW for all of about 5 mins because I couldn't lose an ounce on it and I was bloomin' starving all the time. Friends took me along to SW because they said I wasn't eating enough to lose weight. And how many syns are you allowing yourself per day? They say between 5-15 but unless you are very active as a female I was told to stick to 10 but I have heard people take 15 and then struggle to lose but I also think if you don't have enough you can struggle to lose too. It is all a bit of a balance as usual. Sorry just suddenly thought of another factor.
  • I think I am eating enough, I know I couldn't eat much more.

I have 1 A choice and 2 B per day but for my A I have been taking milk but not using the full amount so have switched to black coffee so I will have cheese for my A from now on and if I have milk in a cup of tea - which is fairly infrequent - I will have to work out the syn value for it.

I have been having 8 - 10 syns per day.

I am guilty of having the same things but it is just because they are easier and I really don't have alot of spare time to make things.
I have mostly green days and tend to live on baked potatoes. When I did the plan 5 yrs ago I ws the same and had mostly green days with my favourite quick and easy meals being Pasta n Sauce, but I did lose really well and consistently.

I think I will try and have some more red days and see if that will maybe kick start me.

In my fridge just now I have some lean bacon and Lamb steaks. I have plenty eggs, mushrooms, broccoli, cauliflour, carrots. Plenty fruit - I have a few yellow grapefruits too - I have a fridge full of muller light and shape yoghurts.
I can't have potatoes as a HE B on a red day because I don't like the skins so they don't count then. I do have some wholewheat spaghetti in the cupboard and some lean mince in the freezer so I could make a bolognaise with that couldn't I? ( I use my syns for the packet sauce mix I like my bolognaise with)

Meal ideas which I can cook for the kids too would be great but I know my toddler wont eat much - she is very fussy. My older 2 (age 9 & 6) are slightly better but still wont eat everything they are given.

Thanks for keeping me going. I will keep checking for updates today, I think I will have a red day today and go and make myself some bacon and egg for breakfast as I have only had a cup of coffee so far - due to lack of time for anything else.

  • Well I had my WI last night and despite being a bit worried that last week's curry takeaway was going to spoil my chances of a loss I managed 2.5lb. I am very pleased with that and can only put it down to doing more red days now that I have kicked the PAsta'n'sauce habit. I have even found my favourite jeans are constantly needing pulled up so I must be losing inches somewhere.

:T Well done on your weight loss.

Those Pasta n Sauces have a lot to answer for! I've managed to get mine down to 1 or 2 packets a week, lol.
Following the Slimming World Plan and Exercising
    * * Weight lost since 2007 = 7 stone 3 lbs * *
13 lbs still left to lose
  • Have been wondering whether to post this or not but have decided to as hopefully it will act as encouragement to Lillysmum and anyone else reading but not posting on here.

I also got weighed last night and have lost 4lbs and also became slimmer of the week - (VERY money saving as I got to bring home a huge bag of fruit!!!) I am really chuffed, and took great pleasure filling in my weightloss chart on the SW website. We are all gonna have ups and downs on our road to dropping the excess weight, we just all need to hang on in there!!

PS - was told about FREE (on Green) Dorrito style crisps last night - they are only free in moderation - so dont go too mad!!!

Get 3 or 4 sheets of lasagne sheets (dried NOT fresh) simmer till floppy, drain, cut into dorrito sized triangles, spray with fry light, sprinkle with whatever - salt n pepper, herbs, even parmesan cheese (as a HE), turn over spray and sprinkle again & bake till the edges curl & they bubble like dorritos. Apparently they are fab and really fill the crisp craving!! Will try some later and let you know.

Hope you are all having a good day xx

There must be a little tweek needed somewhere in my plan as I know it does work.

Congratulations to everyone on their losses so far.

Please be aware this is strictly classed as a misuse of food ( like smoothies and fruit juice) and should therefore be synned.

By all means try it, but if you stop losing, then you know where to lay the blame ;)

LM - Re not losing weight so fast - I am another one who finds green days just don't let me lose weight, I have realised that this is because I rely on stodge too much, and while it's technically free still, days can go by without me having any fresh fruit or veg.

I'm now having all red and one green a week if I particularly want something I can't easily have on reds - like a rice pudding or my beloved asda chickpea dhal!

Take notice of Speed and Superspeed foods - I'm doing a challenge on them on SWF - trying to have 5 or more a day. I was shocked when going through my old food diaries that some days I had zero!! No wonder I maintained eh?

P.S. - Great to see so many of you have taken a look at http://slimmingworldforum.forumotion.com :D if any of you fancy joining the Superspeed challenge, swing by :)
